federal student aid is given to students who need assistance paying for their tuition. it is generally need-based aid. if you make the same amount of money in your job that a woman with a child does, who do you think has less money to pay for school? personally i went to school right after high school and received a lot of aid because my family could not afford to pay for my education.
stafford loans are offered to students who complete the federal student aid application (fafsa). once you complete that and are given your expected family contribution you will be eligible for stafford loans, which need no cosigner because they are guaranteed by the government. complete a web search for scholarships for just women. there are many out there. good luck!

Girl I feel your frustration. It's like the people with the kids who choose not to attend college get all the support and money from the gov.
If you need a loan and don't have a co-signer, try myrichuncle.com. If you have a co-signer try salliemae.com.
