You probably should go see a dr if it doesn't go away. It could be anything... just a reaction to the stop smoking, lung problems, infection, anything... Keep an eye on it and head to your dr if it doesn't clear up...

It is extremely unlikely that you have develped cancer from smoking already, but you have done the right thing stopping now!

It will take a short while for your lungs to clear and recover from the damage your smoking has done, but they should make a full recovery.

The pain on deep breathing could be just a reaction to this self cleaning process, it could be indigestion or it could be a range of other things.

If it has only been today, at your age, it is probably nothing to worry about, but if it continues, see a Dr.

No. That pain in your chest is NOT cancer. But, smoking does trample the cilia in your lungs---making it hard to breathe. Cilia are the little fibers in your lungs that keep the lungs clean. When you put all that tar, carbon monoxide, etc in your lungs.....the cilia just lays there and doesn't clean your lungs. Stop smoking and the cilia will come back---in a couple of months.
