Or do we just live a moment then die.

Are you asking about real meaning or just the feeling of having meaning?

Real meaning comes from living for a real purpose/reason. A real purpose answers the question of "why was I put on this earth" or "what am I meant to do with my life". Real purpose requires a God. Here's what atheist Bertram Russell said about purpose:

“Unless you assume a God, the question of life’s purpose is meaningless.” –Bertrand Russell (20th century philosopher, mathematician and Nobel Laureate)

So, without God there can be no real meaning to life, however, through various psychological techniques we can give ourselves the feeling/illusion of meaning. All the answerers who said, "Life has what meaning you attribute to it", or similar things, really mean that you can get the illusion of meaning.

The primary psychological trick is as follows: Do something worthy of praise such as volunteering to mentor inner city youth. Now give yourself praise and imagine others giving you praise. Now tell yourself that mentoring inner city youth is what you were put on earth to do. Presto, the illusion of a meaningful life.

Live a moment then die.

But do what you can to live your life to the fullest.

But don't forget about the others around you, take care of them.

Yes...
Man is a spirit child of God, and we lived in His presence before this earth life. After progressing to a certain point, we needed to go elsewhere to continue in our progression, and hence this earth was created. As we are here now, ours is the opportunity to prepare to meet God. Unfortunately, whether you believe this or not, the day soon comes when we shall all be brought before His judgement bar, and have to account for what we did. Do good, and have good restored to you. Do evil, and have evil restored unto you.
So, live in a manner knowing that one day you will stand before God and He will ask, "My child, is that the best you could have done with this mortal existence?" We will either proudly say, yes, or in shame say no, and we would fain be glad if we could command the rocks and the mountains to fall upon us and hide us from His presence.
But this cannot be, the scriptures warn... So, live in preparation for that day!

Actually I don't think anyone can answer this in a definitive manner, this is a question for the philosophers. But I think its best to live as if there is a meaning to life, and it is up to each individual to figure out what the answer to this question is to them.

At the most basic, biological perspective, having children is the definition of genetic 'success'. As sentient beings, we seek for meaning, yearn for more than the cellular matter and it's replication. I believe humans have 'spirit'. I believe life can be given meaning by improving who you are, which is done easiest by serving/helping others to overcome their difficulties in life. This could just be primate sentiment, but I choose to believe this life is more than just making my cells happy.

Yes there is. The meaning of life is to worship and obey God which will help us to earn God's blessings and Paradise in the Hereafter.

I believe in a god of unconditional love that created our souls with free will (not humans) in his likeness. many souls could not bear to leave fathers side for the loss of love. many souls went out and returned to share their adventures. Some souls rebeled wanted to be a god themselves. This place (earth system) WAS CREATED FOR THE SOUL TO MAKE ITS FINAL CHOICE. Do they really want to be a "little God and live in dominion=lordship over others. or return to father of love/fellowship/joy/sharing/ab... bliss.

What if heaven and hell are exactly the same except for one difference? What ever you picture in your head heaven to be, imagine hell to be the same except for one difference. Everything you can do in heaven you can do in hell except for one difference. The difference is love or dominion. If you choose love you are in heaven, you are sharing love/joy/fellowship, absolute bliss in all you do.

If you choose dominion you are in hell, everyone will be dominion bent, acting without regard to anything but personal pleasure, personal gain, exercising power over others. Everyman for himself in all that is done. Everything else is the same.

Now which path do/will you choose? LOVE or DOMINION

Doesn't hell feel a lot like earth?
