I have a an account with the MVA(Motor Vehicle Administration) for a fine that i owe, it is now in collections. Will this keep me from enlisting in the Marines?

yes it can, especially if a bench warrant has been issued. additionally, it can bar you from receiving a Clearance.

Pay off the fine before you ship.

Yes. You will have to get a waiver for the account. They will want to know exactly why you haven't paid your bill. If they do grant you a waiver, you be required to set up payment plans to settle the debt or pay the debt off. This can also bar you from getting a security clearence. The military does credit checks on all recuits when thy do the background checks.

No. A poor credit rating won't stop you from enlisting

Why not just pay it off? Take out a loan to pay for it and don't worry.

I'm pretty sure they don't care about your credit. Why don't you call recruiting and ask them? Good Luck!!
