Yes, they love the warm weather. August and September are particularly bad for fleas here in South Texas. But if I keep my dogs and cat treated with the topical flea and tick treatment from the Vet. we have no problem with infestation.

Yes, the warm weather does affect fleas. Animals are warm, so it's the perfect breeding ground for fleas . These days with all the good flea medicine there really isn't any excuse for a cat or dog to have fleas. Advantage and Frontline are two of the best flea meds on the market. When it gets cold outside fleas can't breed therefore making cool weather a time with less fleas.

Yes yes and yes...for some reason we see more fleas during the summer months. Then again, our dogs our outside more too. The flea drops medicine you put on their skin, the one you vet sells, is very good. I would not trust anything from WalMart or similar.

it speeds up the fleas life cycle. flea eggs grow to larvae and then pupae and then moult a few times to eventually become fleas this happens in the environment - sofas, hedge rows etc warmer weather stimulates the moulting process and therefore produces more fleas. its of the top of my head but i think its correct

No. If your cat is outside and gets close to other cats. Those cats usually have fleas so they get attached to your cat.
