Yes, ew! There is only one place for cleaning your teeth, that's the bathroom buddy. You think people want to be sitting down eating their nice dinner, look over and see your nasty self spitting at the table. Brush your teeth in the restroom and put up with the smell or go to a restaurant that has clean bathrooms. Chances are a restaurant that doesn't bother to keep their restrooms clean probably aren't clean with the food either. I can always tell an immaculate restaurant esp. from the condition of their restrooms. You better start eating at different places. Don't you ever do that again! You nasty man!

I thought this was a joke when I first read it. You actually are questioning if spitting at a table in public where other people are eating is rude? Buddy, being concerned about clean teeth is the least of your problems.
And yes, it is extremely gross and rude and disgusting to spit at the table. Most restrooms in a restaurant do not smell and are kept clean by law. How can you say you are self conscious about your teeth but not about spitting around other people and grossing them out? Makes no sense.

Actually I do not consider it to be rude, you simply don't do that sitting at a restaurant table. Remember there are other people around EATING. I certainly could not finish my food if someone next to me is brushing their teeth and spitting on a plate. No matter how bad the restroom smells, brush your teeth there. Another solution is to chew sugarfree gum, and brush your teeth when you get home or have access to a better smelling bathroom.

That is absolutely disgusting! You simply don't spit at the table!
That kind of behavior is horrifying.
You need to get off of your butt and go to the bathroom. It doesn't matter where you are or how disgusting your teeth are.
That is the apex of rudeness. Deal with the smell of a bathroom. There's a reason there are sinks there, too. Take a water bottle in there with you if you must.

This is totally rude and improper. If you must brush your teeth as soon as you finish eating that you have to do it in a proper setting THE BATHROOM. If you are at any decent kind of restaraunt the bathrooms will not be that distasteful. If you are at a dive I would worry about other things besides your teeth.

Dab a little perfume under your nose and take your little 'routine' into the bathroom where it belongs.
Nobody wants to watch you make your teeth all 'sparkly clean' at the expense of their stomach.
You don't brush your teeth at the table just like you wouldn't brush your hair...it's gross, impolite and downright unhygenic.
If you still can't do it in a PUBLIC Restroom then you need to wait until you get home.

Doing personal toilette activities at the table in a restaurant is considered the height of uncouth behavior. Get a grip, obsessive person. If you want to brush your teeth after dinner, excuse yourself and go outside to do your thing. Find an alley or your car and do the thing you cannot live without.
Consider mentioning this obsession to your doctor. There is help for OCD these days.

yes this is rude. Just think, would you want to use a napkin that someone just spit their toothpaste in? Not all bathrooms smell bad. try those colgate/crest brush up things that you put on your finger. can't remember the brand.

Please do this in total privacy. If you do not like the restroom, go out to the parking lot. If you think this is ok, then also include clearing out your nasal passages-throat, picking your nose, scratching yourself in private areas, cleaning out your ears, and flossing your teeth to say the least. YES it is rude and not proper. I am sure an etiquette trainer will say the same. I am not trying to be rude or funny; just trying to get my point across with all due respect.

Yes, I would say that it is extremly rude. It is probably offensive to your dinner guests as well as to other diners. On top of that, whomever has to clean up your used napkin and plate has to deal with the mess that has come out of your mouth. Your best bet is probably to go to the bathroom or wait until you get back home.
