I have an aftermarket stereo that I need to install into a 2007 Honda Civic LX and I can't get a solid answer from anyone if it's even possible. It doesn't look like the standard 2007 Civic LX stereo head unit can even be removed. It looks likes it's molded into the dashboard. Please help. Thanks.

A DIN or double-DIN radio can be installed into your Civic, using a special mounting kit. It's just a little more expensive than most.

As far as I can tell your Honda radio is based on the industry standard D.I.N. mounting platform.
Which only means you have thousands of options to chose from.
But you may want to check out the modern aftermarket for your car.
Instead of replacing the head-unit, it may accept an I-Pod adapter (apx $149)
Or place a $50 Amp in the factory system.
Either way I think that you will find that most factory speakers, especially on low end cars are basically akin to rolled cardboard, glued newsprint, starched diapers, recycled something that was never meant to produce audible sound.
What I'm trying to say, is work backwards.
I would hate to see you try and pump a $599 head-unit into factory Styrofoam speakers and become disappointed.

I'm sure you just need to remove some panels around the stereo, maybe even some of the dash, and all the way down to your center counsel. Look for lil caps covering screws everywhere. You may or may not need a dash kit for your car, but you should get a wire harness that plugs right in to your cars wires.

It depends on the type of standard stereo and the after market stereo. Find a radio/ electronic specialist and he would check them out and see if there is a possibility. Some can, some can't.
