The government should probably not meddle with any specific religion. There's no way to make everyone happy when only one religion is focused on. Gov officials should feel free to proclaim their religion and go by its values, but not try to convert the country.

The government absolutely should not promote religion. This does not mean promoting atheism. If there was a constitutional amendment keeping the government from promoting foods, but food was absolutely legal to be purchased would it be anti-food if the courts ruled that the public schools could not give out free chocolate bars? I know this is a bit clumsy, but I hope you get the idea.

Atheism deals with a disbelief in Gods and has no dogma or ritual. There are some religions like Buddhism that would not require a God and thus Buddhism is a faith. Likewise, a Theist would perhaps have confidence in a God yet no longer persist with any faith. Agnostics are no longer interior the middle or fence-sitters because of the fact agnosticism deals with awareness and absolutely everyone who's thoroughly honest is agnostic while it contains Gods. it is impossible to be conscious of the two way no remember if God exist or no longer. beneficial, we can logically say that benevolent Gods can not exist on a planet with suffering/evil yet this would not negate a malevolent God. because of the fact concept is binary, Agnostics will nevertheless fall into one in all the two categories Theist or Atheist. you have the liberty to do despite you like (in all fairness) between consenting adults in private. thus, in case you opt to construct a church and worship your toaster, circulate proper forward, no-one will end you. yet once you incorporate non-consenting adults or worse, little ones then this must be addressed. Your freedom of religion became particularly set as much as guard people from being persecuted for their religious ideals. the government isn't advertising Atheism and that they do no longer seem to be in any respect asserting which you would be able to no longer have a faith yet once you have the ten commandments at a court docket-residing house, then why don't you incorporate the Qu'ran's version, the Atheist "Golden Rule" and another commandment from the 3000+ religions obtainable. Why could area be allotted for purely one faith? Likewise with prayer in school. certainly, in case you will advise a prayer in school, you are able to advise a prayer to each and each God alongside with Thor and Anoia. despite if, prayer would be completed at residing house before college and the college day would be dedicated to education instead. that's the yank hypocrisy that gets me. merely approximately each and every church has some motivational message advertising its concept interior the standard public section yet while an Atheist billboard is going up, there is outcry. the government is independent. It must be, in spite of the flesh presser's own ideals. despite if, many politicians will attempt to sneak their religious ideals into rules while given the possibility. this would't be reported approximately Atheism considering is merely approximately impossible for an Atheist to be elected.

The US should promote PHILOSOPHIES that are conducive to cohabitation, progress, rationality, and peace within the society. But a written-in-stone-this-is-how-you-should-always-behave-religion, no. It is not flexible enough, it does not change with the times, which is needed for contextual adaptations and progress.

The lack of a unified philosophy, other then capitalism, has brought us to the doorstep of all the problems and dissolving of basic American rights that we are experiencing now. There is no mindset found at large that reflects a united America, as largly everyone is only out for themselves, or their friends/family. Take as much as you can from life, right? But this behavior is bad for the mind, as we are reflective creatures. We constantly perceive ourselves in other's shoes, so when we step on and hurt others, we still get emotional turmoil and baggage because, in our minds, they are us. See mirror neurons in wikiepedia if you want neurophysiological proof for that statement.

No government anywhere should promote religion. Religion is a personal matter and has no place in government. Those who want to impose their religion on others must be prepared to have other religions imposed on them.

You're right, but actually, promoting atheism would mean establishing laws that now one could worship god. That would be a terrible law.

Taking all religions out of government isn't promoting atheism, its just being fair to all.

The president should have a high character and strictly fallow his own religion. He should fallow the good advice of intelligent and loving guidance.
He should also allow his subjects the freedom of their own religious choice. The subjects can be judged in the realm of their own religious beliefs using their own religious Authority and scripture as reference.

Believers and Non believers are all members of the same country.

Atheism is the natural state of human beings - no one grows up Catholic unless they have Catholics raising them, for example. The government should - SHOULD - be protecting children against this mental abuse until they are old enough to make rational decisions on the subject - but churches know this would leave them with no followers and thus lobby against it constantly.
