Ft. Lee Virginia. Im a 92Y, thats where I went to school. Basically, you do your pt in the morning....you go to breakfast...you go back to your rooms and take your showers and get ready for school....Your in school all day. You will have dinner and then get free time...you can play basketball ..listen to your music ..talk on your cell phones. Sleep in your room. As long as nobody does anything stupid..you should get your freedom... As for weekends..I believe the first few weeks you can go around the base...(they have a club where you can dance and play pool and games) but you have to be back at a certain time...Then eventually you get to go off base and be back at a certain time...The last weekends you get to have an overnight..where you can stay in a hotel ..and they will tell you when you need to sign in the next day. Sometimes they have field training..and before you leave AIT..you will have to go to the field for a few days. I thought it was fun as long as you respect the DS and NOT take advantage of the freedom, you should be fine. School was also fun , because you learn a lot..and the teachers are great. Have fun

Training is at Ft. Lee, Virginia. AIT is different that basic training. You will have more time to make phone calls, and write letters while doing your AIT than you did in basic.

I'm planning on changing my MOS to 92Y also in the next few months, and working supply for 14 years and retiring.

IT's at Ft. Lee, Virigina. I did my officer basic course there and when I was on Staff duty making my rounds at the AIT barraks... those kids seemed to have plenty of freedom and communication. Some home computers and DVD players with them.

...thats more then I ever got when I was in AIT.

It is a lot like junior college. You spend 80% of your time in a classroom, 20% doing military crap-- d and c, guard duty, inspections, and so on. Compared to basic it is more laid back. You'll also find the people are higher caliber and better educated. Hope you are comfortable with computers you use them a lot. If you keep your nose clean and pay attention you will do ok. Good luck youngster!
