Call up the school you went to and ask for a copy of your transcripts, or if they don't have them, they might be on microfilm at the main district office.

If you are in the UK, you need to contact the relevant examination board. A lot of the boards that existed in the 80's have been taken over by others. The one relevant to you depends on what part of the country you did your exams in. I did my 'A' Levels in '83 in North Yorks and my old school gave me the following names, they all have web sites and email details. By the way if your certificates have simply been misplaced, you have to pay.

WJEC

First,contact your school,they will be able to tel you what examining boards were used for which subjects.
Also ask your school for it's centre number .
Approach the examining boards,however,it is costly,in the region of 30-40 pounds a time.
The centre number is important,as the examining boards can identify the school you attended.
