Here is a relatively objective (non-Wiccan) set of articles on what Wiccans do and believe:
http://www.religioustolerance.org/witchcra.htm
Another useful article:
http://www.religionfacts.com/neopaganism/paths/wicca.htm
A good site by Wiccans:
http://wicca.timerift.net
And the US Army Chaplains Handbook excerpt on Wicca:
http://www.religioustolerance.org/wic_usbk.htm
If you're looking to do some reading, I'd recommend "Wicca: A Guide for the Solitary Practitioner" by Scott Cunningham (it has everything you need to get started practicing the religion on a daily basis), and "The Triumph of the Moon" by Ronald Hutton (for the history of modern Pagan witchcraft). I advise you to stay away from anything by Silver Ravenwolf, for reasons outlined in the following essay:
http://wicca.timerift.net/ravenwolf.shtml
You might also find the Witches of the World section at Witchvox helpful:

Just use the pull-down menus on the left to find individuals, groups, shops, and events in your area.

Those are two really good starting places. I have a bunch more links of interest at http://www.thegreenwolf.com/links.html
As for books, I recommend the following two to start with:
"Contemporary Paganism" by Graham Harvey - excellent introduction to the various neopagan religions, well-written, and not as dry as "Drawing Down the Moon"
"The Four Powers" by Nicholas Graham - the best book for helping you to figure out what areas of study and practice you'd like to focus on. My favorite beginner's book.
For other book recommendations, check out my book review blog at http://lupabitch.wordpress.com (check the links on the left sidebar- - there are links to other reviewers there).

Also I noticed someone said Silver Ravenwolf is a good author... she is a disgrace to Wicca! Do not buy her books, she says Wicca is a peaceful religion and then attacks Christianity, she makes up history, and generally preys on gullible teenage girls.

Prariecrow's answer is your best so far.
People are more important than books or websites. I do recommend reading EVERY PAGE of http://wicca.timerift.net before you approach a teacher, though.

Books by Konstntinos are good if you want to do Nocturnal Craft. Laurie Cabot is also an amazing Wiccan. She is referred to as the Witch of Salem, Mass. My hometown. Go to www.crowhavencorner.net That site is really good.

anything by silver ravenwolf is a good place to pick up basics. her books arnt wrighten in as much of a text book style as cunninghams. and its also pretty usefull to have a copy of magical herbs by scott cunningham.
edited to add. I found her to be less of a christian basher, then most of the wiccians and pagans i know in person. its not as if i told the girl to base everything on ravenwolf. she does teach the basics in an easay to understand manner with out becomeing dry and dull like cunningham
