Burial..............Cremation as i see it is a gross process and causes massive damage to the environment.

Christians are suppose to be buried not Cremated. One might say what if they die in a fire and have no choice in the way they die? Jesus says that the individual will not be accountable for that. When one is cremated they are burnt, and Christians are suppose to let there bodies return to the dirt of the earth, after all its not there body, its Gods. Even though the Spirit leaves the body upon death the body sleeps until the time that we receive our glorified bodies.

The reason Jews and Christians mostly bury instead of cremating is because the body is thought of as a "seed" being planted for resurrection later into something wonderful.Paul says a seed that grows ,grows into something much more wonderful than the seed."Planted in corruption, raised in in corruption",Paul states.Cremation on the other hand has not only a Pagan air of the person ascending in the smoke to the heavens but also a note of finality to it.Now ,we are going to rot to ashes eventually anyway so whether we are planted whole or burnt to ashes, when the time comes for resurrection,God has our DNA on record.Jesus said "Even the very hairs on your head are numbered".For God it is no problem one way or the other.

Burial, because I'm Jewish.

It's actually forbidden for a Jew to be cremated (that's if they are a practicing Jew). It is considered disrespectful to the departed to not allow nature (the decomposition process) to take its course - in fact, it is even required that the coffin have holes to allow to earth to touch the corpse. There are many interesting aspects to it if you wish to learn more (http://www.jewfaq.org/death.htm).

However, I know my father in law (a Gentile) wishes to be cremated and have his ashes spread at sea. He says he wishes he could have a funeral pyre (a traditional burning of the body as seen in the movies "First Knight" and "Star Wars: Episode I, The Phantom Menace") but it is a health concern where we live. Besides, if he could spend every waking minute either on his motorcycle or a boat, he would, so spreading his ashes at sea seems a fitting for him.

Cremation. It's a lot cheaper. Have you seen the cost of a coffin and a burial spot. Instead just send your money to me.

Cremation... I'm claustrophobic, so the idea of being buried sucks. Sure, you go into the oven to be cremated, but you're only there for a short while. Once I'm a bunch of ashes, I can be scattered over a nice field, or something nice.

Cremation. I think its better because,
one- you won't rot in the ground.
two - people won't dig up your grave and throw you out to make room for someone else.
Etc.
When you are cremated, your ashes can be saved or spread where ever you desire, so you can rest in peace. Besides, we're running out of room on this planet for the living, so where would be bury the dead?

Cremation. I have no need for my body once I'm dead. Packing me full of chemicals so I won't rot and then putting me in a big solid box and then possibly putting me into a conscrete sarcophogus feels an awful lot like littering! let me make room for the next generation.

Cremation all the way. I don't want people boo-hooing over my casket during my funeral and I don't want my family going into debt just to put my shell somewhere.
After my shell is cremated I don't care what happens to it because I won't be there. I just want my family to do whatever brings comfort to them.

Cremation, I don't want my body to be in the dirt with worms and other creepy crawly things!

Also, my father was cremated, and we (my sisters, mom, and me) all have some of his ashes. Sounds kinda weird, and I can't explain it - but it's very comforting to me.
