Okay so here goes I finally went to a Mass in the Catholic Church today. Anyway I felt kind of weird at first and lost as I'm not use to all of the rituals. If anything I pretty much did what I saw everybody else do as I sat at the back of the church. Anyway I cried three times when I prayed but then again I did something to hurt somebody emotionally. Anyway I shivered a little bit as well. I guess some would say that was the Holy Spirit. It's funny becasue for a brief moment after the Mass was over I felt happy although I am still somewhat depressed about things in my life. So have you ever felt this way while praying or in church? Also I haven't received Commuion or Confirmation yet but I was wondering if I could still have gone up anyway and if the priests do some sort of blessing?

It happens.... sometimes God just reaches out and touches out while we are praying, an arm around the shoulder saying "I know it's hard, but I am here". And then there are the times that we just feel emotionally safe to really put out there what is in our hearts. I've had it happen a few times, mainly during periods of stress and/or anxiety about things I am trying to control, instead of God taking it.

As for the blessing... I'm sure you could have. I know in our church, we have a tradition that if you go up with your hands behind your back or crossed in front on your chest, Pastor will offer a blessing, and not the host.

Congratulations on taking that first step back.... and be prepared for more tears as you begin to walk closer to God.

The moment music starts playing, I start crying. I have cried all the way through church service many a times. Music just opens up my spirit so that I can receive what God has for me. It also brings healing to my life and heart. We all fail and I think we notice it more after we have been to church. The shiver was probably the Holy Spirit telling you how much God loves you. God can heal your depression, He did mine. I am not on medication anymore and feel normal. Keep seeking God, He is more than willing to meet your needs and heal you in every way.

You can go up and cross your arms over yourself and this should give the priest the indication that you are not going to receive communion but you would like to receive a blessing . They do this for little children and those of a non-Catholic faith. Any blessing is a good thing to receive.

very often... but...

You may well have had a spiritual experience... but you will never hear The Truth of Salvation in a Catholic institution... and all the " spiritual experiences" in the world will not bring you to God in The Way He prescribes... Unless you come to know The Truth of The Salvation Message you will never be able to aproach God.

All who come to God in The Way He prescribes will receive His free gift of Salvation. Those become part of The Body of The Church of Which Jesus The Christ is The Head. Those are the ones of The True Christian Faith. Only those of The Church will enter Heaven.

No one, who only knows the teaching and "traditions" of the Roman cult, has ever, or will ever, enter Heaven.... Even The Pope can not say that his Salvation is assured and that he will enter Heaven When He finishes this mortal time... and a priest will be kicked out if they tell any one that their Salvation is assured.... Those of The True Christian Faith know with certainty that their Salvation is assured and that they will be entering Heaven.

No, but I laughed once. The more embarrassed I got, the more I laughed. :-)
Seriously, it sounds like you have mood/emotional issues. I would get a blood test (or whatever) and see a doctor before I started relying on anything non-medical. Those ceremonies have been specifically designed to bring out people's emotions and they've had thousands of years to work on it.

Yes I did but that was when I was about six years old and a classmate jabbed me with a pencil when our catholic church marched us off to church on the first Friday of each month

I didn't cry in church. You must have just been overcome with emotion because of your surroundings.
