For about the past week or so, I've had these strange pains in my back and stomach. In my back, its in the lower right part of my back, and in my stomach its also on the right, but it hurts almost all the way across my lower stomach. Its not a normal feeling of just a back ache, or stomach ache, but it almost feels like its a muscular issue. Its off and on, but when I do feel it, I have to sit or lay down until it goes away because it hurts so terribly.

Also, when I breathe in, a spot under my shoulder hurts very bad. This is also off and on. I'm also very short of breath, just walking up and down my stairs can make me very tired.

I'm not quite sure if I should head in to the doctor for this, or if it will pass soon. Does anybody know what this may sound like, or if I should head into he doctor or not? I'm pretty young for kidney stones, so I'm pretty sure that that isn't what it is...

Thanks

I would definitely go to the doctor. I agree with everyone: it could be gallstones, kidney issues, appendix problems, or many other things. It sounds serious and is definitely worth having checked out.

It could also be Deep Vein Thrombosis. I had weird pains like that and I had a DVT from my knee, through my pelvis, to my abdomen. I also hurt on my back and it my stomach. The pains would go away but when they did happen it was so severe I thought I was going to die. I'm only 20 and I thought I was wayyy to young for something like that but I was wrong.

Short of breath accompanied with pain may also mean there's something going on with your lungs or heart. You should never ignore this symptom - especially with back pain too. There's a lot of things it could be..I would head for the ER if I was you and have some tests done. Some of them suck but they are definitely worth it in the long run.

It almost sounds like a kidney infection. Do you have a fever also? You could also have a cyst on your right ovary. Which could cause the pain to come and go as a cyst can do that. If you have a fever with the pain, go get to the doctor. If it is a cyst, the pain will come and go in a couple months, and then may come back again several months down the road. Do a search on Google for "cyst on ovary" and see if it sounds like what you have. Hope you feel better soon!

What you may have is a gall stone. The gall bladder is blocked and causes the pain to shoot around the right side of your body. It could be your appendix but, I doubt it. A gall stone can happen from many reasons. Lots of soda can do it, and now a days people do not drink enough h2o. You need to get to your primary where they can do either an upper GI, or an MRI. Do not let this go too far though with out seeing your doctor. It can only get worse and don't worry if you do need to have your gall bladder removed it's a simple surgery and you'll never miss it.

Like the others said it could be your appendix ,a kidney infection, your ovary, but it also could be a kidney stone.I had one for a long time and it became the size of a nickel. It almost took my life.So the best advise to you is GO TO SEE A DOCTOR AS SOON AS POSSIBLE!!! It is better to be safe than sorry. It is not normal to hurt like that for long periods of time.

Document your pain, when, where & how. It could be anything, so make an appt with your doctor. I have a hiatal hernia that hurts like that.
