What are some of the small things that my family and I can do to reduce global warming? I know we have done some bad things, like purchase a huge SUV, but now that I have read a little bit on it, I, we would like to do something about it, but I cannot go and buy new cars.....

Or family started recycling at home. I even save plastic bottles when we are out so we can recycle at home. Cut back on the plastic grocery bags!!! Believe it or not plastic comes from petroleum. I fill my bags as full as possible or when I go small shopping trips I use a bag I have for groceries. I also have a britta water filter/pitcher for home. We drink this water instead of bottled when at home. We fill water bottles t take along too. Using natural cleaning products are another great way too. Hope these ideas help.

Global Warming is tweaking of the nature. Nature loves recycle.
Plant gives us Oxygen. Plant takes CO in the process of photosynthesis. As we are producing more Carbons than plant can take it and also not to mention we are helping plant by reducing its number.
This is just a simple example how we are contributing in Global Warming.
Everybody knows this is wrong. But we all need to act and stop it.

The Earth is undergoing a natural cycle of evolution right now. Dont interfere. The climate is about to shift radically all around the world. Some places that are land will become ocean. Others that are ocean will become land. The North and South poles themselves will shift. Plants, animals, birds, insects and more will die off - many thousands of species will become extinct. BUT in some remote islands, and at the depths of the ocean floor, new animals, new plants, new birds, new insects and more are growing, ready to populate the new world.
So, in the end, dont worry. It's just Mother Nature saying it's time for something new to come!

look around you
every thing inside your house/apartment produced greenhouse gases to manufacture.
start figuring out what you don't need
or come to the realization that global warming due to the greenhouse effect has happened before causing mass extinction. Then it was CO2 spewing from the ground and methane clathrates decomposing. This time it's human activity, and once again, the earth will recover........ a few thousand species short.

Good for you, at least you noticed what you are doing. The next step is to reduce your purchases and also your waste. Reuse what you can, like leftovers from dinner or even leftovers like hand-me-down clothes - take them to the thrift shop as a donation (preferably on your bicycle) if you have no younger kids. Recycle everything that can be recycled. Follow the directions carefully so that you are not just adding to the mess at the recycle centers. If it says "no lids" it means NO LIDS. Thanks for taking the first step and making it stick. Now you are on the right road, remember that the next time you buy a car - or for that matter, anything else.

Park your SUV and never use it again. Selling it only transfers the carbon to someone else.
Don't buy any more new cars. Use a bicycle instead, or walk. Remember to take shallow breaths so you don't exhale too much co2.
Get sterilized so you don't have any more kids. Over population causes global warming.

Ummm, if GW is such an emergency, doesn't it warrant more drastic measures than some "small things?" You should walk everywhere you go, but be careful not to over-exert yourself or you will increase your CO2 output from heavier breathing. Also, you need to puchase as many carbon offsets from Al Gore as you can possibly afford. As for your SUV's, you should donate the evil vehicles to someone like me who is not concerned with GW.

Nothing you can do is going to make a difference. The earth cools and warms. It is a natural cycle.
Did you know that in the 70s they were all freaking out about the upcoming ICE AGE!!!!! Now its warming?
PLEASE!
It's a bunch of hype by a bunch of tree-hugging liberals.
