You accept Jesus as your savior, trust him with your soul

It means that the old, sinful person that they used to be is now "dead", and a new person has been "born". Christ has come into their hearts and made new persons out of them. Of course, this doesn't mean that new Christians don't sin - they still can and do, but usually not the same things they used to do, and not usually to the same degree. However, if they DO sin, they are more likely to recognize the sin and ask for forgiveness, which they will receive.
The sacrament of baptism by immersion (the only method sanctioned by Scripture) is symbolic of the death of the "old man/person" (going down into the water), burial (being under the water) and resurrection (coming up out of the water). The person who comes up out of the water is a "new person". All the old things have passed away. All the old sins have been washed away. The person can now start life afresh with a clean slate.

Typically when people say this it means that they had a spiritual renewing experience. Whether it had to do with something in regards to religion, i.e. getting back a relationship with their God, or it can be something as little as someone going through a mid life crisis buying the car they always wanted. Feeling born again is feeling at your "prime" again, or feeling that you have gotten back on the right spiritual or life path again. Religiously it means that you have wiped your slate clean, and have walked away from your blasphemous ways, in order to rebuild your foundation with God. Hope that makes sense for you...

I can tell you because it happened to me. We are obviously born once as flesh, and you can't do that again. But, Jesus described being born again as being born of the Spirit. It refers to a spiritual rebirth. This really is a loaded question with lots of scripture that could be applied to it. In fact, your question is almost identical to what Nicodemus asked Jesus in the Bible in the Gospel of John chapter 3.

To sum it up though, being born again basically means that the man you were dies and you become a new creation in Christ. Your past sins are removed and you have a new spiritual lease on life. In addition to this, the overpowering desire to sin is changed to a heart that wants to live for God and do right. You have become a literal child of God, a joint heir with Christ, and you start on a road that will lead to eternal life if you remain faithful to Him.

That's being born again.

When we are born physically, we receive our physical life, and, of course, can relate to the world around us. To be able to have relationship with God, which is what we were created for, we need spiritual life, and so we need to be born spiritually, which is also called being born again. When we are born again, we begin our relationship with God, and are "born" into His family.

Jesus explained being born again, in John chapter 3, verses 1 to 21. (You can read it at www.biblegateway.com)

To become born again, a person needs to give his or her life to Christ. This is also called "getting saved."

Here are some really helpful websites:

(Scroll down for the free download called "These Are the Facts." If you want to be born again, you can pray the prayer mentioned in it.)

Also, when a person is "born again" he or she becomes a new person inside. Their desires begin to change, like desiring to do the things that please God, and desiring to get to know Him better. It's very exciting!

It simply means that, through belief in Christ, our old ways of thinking are gone/dead. And, a new creature is born, one who acts on their new-found beliefs. It doesn't mean that we're all of a sudden good, or even that we think we are good. Because even the best of Christians are still evil human beings. But, after being born again, we feel terrible when we do wrong, get remorseful, and change our behaviors. Peace.

It means that they to dump any intellect that they have developed, and be symbolically born again so that they can remain perpetually with the mindset of a 1 year old. This does in fact explain their infantile behavior.

Everyone is born once from their mother's womb. But our spirits are as good as dead, in our relationship with God. When one is born again, one chooses to accept new life in Christ, effectively creating a new spiritual person.

Many ppl use that prhase and dont know what it means. Its a serious thing to say. IT means you believe in Jesus Christ as your personal saviour, that you know He died for you and will come again to take you to Heaven with Him. And most ppl let it stop there. No, we are commanded to be like Jesus, speak like Him, live like Him, follow Him into obedience just as HE did the father. That allows Him to truly live in our hearts and minds and change us the way He wants to do , so we are more like Him. We are called to perfection by God, and its the only way we can become perfect , by staying in Jesus. and thats what being born again means, that you will do as Jesus says and not yourself. YOu are born of His spirit and walk in His spirit in obedience. Most wont obey and count on grace to save them n omatter how they sin. NO, it was for past sins and sins we dont know of. WE cant continue to live in willfull deliberate contintued sin and count on grace. Doesnt work. BEing born again means you are willing to do it GOds way and be a person after His heart, and not your own. Some just think it means trying to change and being a good person that knows there is a Jesus.
NO, its way more than that. God commands us to obey, He doesnt just suggest it.
Great question.....

Jesus said we have to be born physically (all of us have done that) and born spiritually (i.e. to be "born again") in order to experience the kingdom of God.

When we ask Jesus to save us we become a new person. We're born again, so to speak.
