Any ideas welcomed... i have a uniden 2.4ghz double cordless phone set and its difficult to use it. when using the phone, either handset, after a short time a loud buzzing sound develops and/or it acts like its dialing out and disconnects you. It also goes very staticy when using the microwave. The phone line doesn't seem to do this with a corded phone. I have no idea how to resolve this problem. Any suggestions?? I don't have any filters for dsl, etc. I use the phone line just for local calling only. The only other electronics I have are tv, dvd and basic stereo set. Any suggestions are welcome and/or recommendations of better phone purchase options as well. Thanks

what you need is the new DECT 6.0 phones!!

you can start of with buying a base-phone and one extension....then later you can buy one extention at the time.....you dont need phone outlets only an electrical outlet for each!!!

only the base-phone needs a phone-jack.....

microwaves, and wifi can cause interfearance with 2.4ghz phones...

first try moving the phone base as far away from any of these devices.. if this doesnt clear the problem, you may need a new phone as you did not mention having wifi.. if you have wifi, you would log into the router and change the channel the router transmits on, sometimes this clears the problem...

a DECT phone will be nice, but may be alittle more money then a 5.8 ghz phone, and while you may lose some range and battery life will be slightly shorter with a 5.8 phone it will proballay be so slight that you do not notice it...

as for brands, i would only go with panasonic...

I would take the phone set to a friends house and try it there to see if you have the same problem. If you do, its probably a defective phone and you either need to get it fixed or buy a new one.

If the phone works fine at your friend's house, then you probably have a local interference problem. Try changing the frequency/channel setting on the base (if it has one), and moving the base itself to another location in the house.
