I have heard rumors that distilled water can somehow effect your lungs in making it harder to completely fill your lungs with air or causes a tightness in your chest. This sounds silly to me but the only kind of water I drink is distilled so in that case, I'm open for any information someone might have about this. Thanks.

Jess, whoever told you this is a dunce. I've tasted distilled water before and it seems kind of flat. I didn't like it for that reason. But, affecting your lungs - nonsense.

Well it would definately be bad if you were to, for example, breathe the distilled water. Or any water for that matter. Somehow, I get the feeling you are drinking the water and not breathing it, in which case, I doubt it could be that bad.

What is bad for you is completely de-ionised water. But I don't think that would be the case for your distilled water.

Anyway, it could be worse. You could drink melted butter, lard, or litres of coffee or hot chocolate. Drinking water really seems like the best thing, if you ask me.

Edit:
And for the assh0le who gave me a thumbs down, why don't you do something useful, like getting lung cancer, you bastards?

As for the answer below me, "it is bad for you because it doesn't contain the minerals blah blah blah" - a carrot doesn't contain all the minerals I need to live, does that make carrots bad for me? NO. Dumb@ss.

distilled water is bad for you because it doesn't contain any minerals your body needs. Everything has been removed in the distillation process. Just get yourself a SIGG bottle and use tap water -- America has the best water treatment in the world, and it's what's best for your body.

Why would you or anyone drink distilled water?
Your body needs the minerals in spring water.
Tap water contains chlorine & frouride in some areas.
This is intended to kill bacteria, & strengthen tooth enamel.
In any case, I don't see how any of it affects your lungs.
