The geeks at bestbuy told me to get a new windows program $125.00.
Is there some where to downlaod windows for free?

To tell you the truth, there really isn't anywhere to download it. Those "geeks" as you so rudely called them are right. The program works very weel if you need it.

why bother with windows when you can have something better for free. and when I say better I mean better... windows vista does not come anywhere near it,,,,
try linux, you will get all the software you will ever need also free,
now you might ask what is linux, Linux is a operating system the MS can only dream about. it is safer, more secure, never crashes, will run on any computer, you can do more with Linux than you will ever do with XP or Vista,
check out the websites below and got to youtube and see just what linux can do,,, in the search bar type in... linux ,,, watch all the video's about linux. you will see what I'm talking about...

There is no way to download Windows for free that is legal and virus free. Find out what the missing file is and try to google it for download. By the way, often times, 'geeks' also refer to themselve as geeks.

Borrow a cd from any friend of urs and do a setup of windows u do not have to re-install windows, by just doing setup u will not lost any of ur data.
From microsoft website u will have Win. Vista and not old versions of Win. XP even.

Uhhhh... well... you could download the torrent... but not only are those illegal, they're also infested with spyware and viruses... also the windows versions are often gimped =/ So, no, bestp lace to find a new windows program is eBay =(

no u cannot d/l windows 4 free. that would be illegal, then u could get caught and the illigal copy coupld not get any updates becasue its not a valid copy of windows. just buy the software.

Have you tried doing a system restore to an earlier date when you began to have the problem? Sometimes doing one will correct the problem.
