totally agree....like finding gold. or as He said...like a deer thirsting for water. I want to know more!
Should it be easier? If it was, then we would see it as a manual and decide we didn't need Him to help us understand.
His Word is His message of how much He cares. And He wants to spend time with us as we try to learn who He is.

I wondered that for years and years, why He made it hard to understand. He not only revelaed the truth to me, but actually spoke it to me. If it were easy to understand, ppl would glance it it, try to reember the high points an dput it up and not go back again. But, the more we ready, the more we study the Bible, the more God reveals to us, and the more we pray, the more understanding we have also. He wants us not to just read it, but to study it and pray as we study it, and to obey what we know to obey, and then He will give us so much understanding, and the more we do that, the deeper the understanding becomes. and in these last days, God will give us more revelation to get thru these last days. I count it all as joy. He wants us to pick it up a lot and study it and pray, cuz everytime we do, we are drawing closer to Him, knowing Him more and the whole thing just clicks together and we do get it. The more we love God and study and pray and obey Him as we read His word, the sooner we understand and the deeper we understand. Blessings come from obedience. and one blessing is rhema NEW revelation of the Holy Bible and of Gods huge plan for us all. The Bible is like a giant jigsaw puzzle, where we take one tiny piece at a time at put it on to start a picture. when we learn more and more, it goes together like a huge puzzle, showing us the huge giant glorious, wonderfully beautiful plan of God. Reuires time and study, and I do count it all as Joy. And the more you do that, the easier the Bible does all go together. SOme say there are contradictions in the BIBLE> NO, its just they dont have the puzzle pieces together yet to form the rest of the picture. We need the old and the new testaments as they all fit together to form the picture. We must have it all and obey it all.
GOd bless you. Your questions always provoke to deep thought. God will bless you so much for it.

All right, but the problem is when non-believers try to approach it. If there is some "secret understanding" granted only to those who ALREADY BELIEVE, then why would anyone choose the Bible over other texts that do not have such a silly requirement? In the United States, the Bible is the most well-known text; in many other countries, this is not so. Do you expect those people to abandon what they feel they understand for a book you feel you understand? Why WOULD they do that if the best understanding of the Bible is only achieved by the prerequisite of belief?

The Bible is inspired by God, but he used ordinary men and women to inspire us. I don't think the Bible is difficult to understand but sometimes we can get lost between the "thee's and the thou's" given that we do not ordinarily speak in this manner today. A good modern English version of the Bible may make the Bible much easier to understand. Their are also many useful tools available today to shed insights on key Bible verses such as a good Bible commentary.

I consider that whether it is Bible or any other religious Book from some other faith/religion across the world, would have the same kind of simplicity/complicity in itself.
Why? for, the Almighty stays at such a height where no one among us can reach and even dared to touch that height. And, the teachings of the Almighty spread across the world by Saints of different faiths through their Holy Books, which are recorded in such a form that it provides understanding only to whom those first of all should have a FAITH in religion, Faith in God's existence, Faith in Human beings, Faith in reincarnation, and especially doing all kinds of good deeds in this Birth.
Such people are bestowed with God's grace, who make a mind and slowly walk in the path of those spiritual teachings by having a belief in them and slowly and gradually as one goes ahead following faith in those teachings the hard teachings of eith Bible or any other Holy book tend to come as easier notions to them.
Best wishes,
God Bless All!

I think that what you have said is true, it is like digging for gold. God wants us to draw closer to Him. And we know that is a road that is sometimes a little bumpy. When we put ourselves into understanding the Word, we won't get it as easily as when we say 'God give me understanding about what I am about to read.' The whole point is to as Proverbs tells us, not to rely on our own understanding. God Bless.

The Spirit reveals what is "hidden". After over 30 years of "digging", I still find treasures from time to time. I believe that some things are revealed just at the time the Lord wants me to know them.

Yes. Some of us actually enjoy a challenge. Unfortunately, this makes it easy for some crybabies who don't want to understand to simply cry 'foul' and walk away.
Their loss.
No, Katie, the mentally disabled are not 'kinda screwed'. The Gospel message is simple. The complexities are beautiful, but unnecessary.

Search for it as for hidden treasure and you will find.
Keep asking and you will recieve.
How do you sift the honest hearted ones from the dishonest.
see who wants it the most. the bible has some things that are difficult to understand without asking for Gods help and direction.
If you get througgh the basic information and then drop it. like the ten commandments or jesus teachings.
your likely not worthy of understanding the more sacred secrets of God.

Somethings that are revealed are for now and then there are somethings that are meant for a later time God has time frames that some things are revealed in. But the Bible does say to study and show thyself approved.
