Windom Earle,
Your assertion that your son not having gills disproves evolution is laughably ridiculous. Evolution does not claim that such a drastic change in DNA that would affect the entire biochemical operation of an organism can take place within one generation. This sort of change takes tens of millions of years.
You cannot pick one type of mutation out of the billions of possibilities, and state that because you have not seen it occur in one particular individual, evolution must be false. I wish you the best, and I'm happy to hear that your family does not have cancer. But it would be in your best interests to log off your computer, learn critical thinking skills, then log back on before posting more questions.
PS. It occurs to me that this post may have been a joke... If so, I commend you on your sense of humor, and PLEASE don't take offense to what I wrote above. However, if you are a creationist and you ACTUALLY BELIEVE that you have a point, I stand by what I said.

you can't pick or predict your genetic mutations. cancer is a genetic mutation, and if your whole family has it, then the power plant did cause genetic mutations.
but, this is NOT HOW EVOLUTION WORKS. nuclear plants haven't existed forever, yet here we are. genetic mutations happen over a long period of time, through reproductional flaws. if a mutation helps the species survive longer, the species produces more offspring, therefore passing the helpful mutation on. if the mutation does not help the species survive, it dies sooner before producing as many (or any) offspring. this is called natural selection, and is the basis for evolution.

Evolution is utter nonsense. Evolution is based on age old lies. Evolution is a man made theory, opinion, conjecture etc. Evolution is absurd. Evolution is not science at all. It is not testable, observable nor verifiable. Evolution cannot be proven. It's all based on faith, opinions, conjectures and lies. Have faith dear friends in GOD. No, according to the theory of evolution, random genetic mutations THAT HELP YOU SURVIVE are the driving force behind adaptation. Being able to breathe underwater when you live on land does not help you survive in any way and that owuld have to alter his entire body structure, of organs.

Evolution is the adaptation of a species to its circumstances/environment.
How much time do you and your son spend underwater trying to breathe? If you did it enough, for, say, 100,000 years, then maybe you'd end up with gills.
I am sorry that your family has developed cancer (if this is true.)

No, the fact that you kid can't breath underwater doesn't disprove evolution. Neither does the fact that birds can't crawl around on the bottom of the ocean. You need to do a lot more studying on this topic because your question is absurd. Unless of course you are trying to be funny, in which case you need to buy a new joke book.

Mutations are a loss of information, not an addition. We can not evolve from mutations, as we'd be less evolved then the initial organism that sprouted to life

You got it all wrong. Radiations give super strenght, endurance and energy projection powers (in some rare instance also a healing factor).
It is toxic wates that give gills.
Personally I gained an incredible super power: I can give a lethal herpes with a kiss.
I gained it by... well, let's skip that part. I'm thinking about wearing a cape and starting a life of crime under the name of pestilence.

You have to drown him several times for him to have gills. This may take a few generations. As for wings, you have to have several babies fall out of an airplane exactly after they're born. Law of Averages say that one will magically sprout wings

babies have the ability to hold their breath underwater for a few minutes just like other aquatic mammals like dolphins and whales
they lose this ability at around 6 weeks
