I have tried to install updates for it. The 'genuine' test told me that my copy of windows isn't genuine.
Should I format my PC and reinstall my windows?
If there is a better solution, please contact me.
Thank you :)

Reformatting and reinstalling is totally pointless. You need to find out why your failed authentication.

If you are sure you copy is genuine, go to the Microsoft website and run the Windows Genuine Advantage tests and automatic fixes. It could just be a problem with the test software.

If this does not work you will need to contact Microsoft with your original product key.

The key is combined with a hardware signature of your PC to test your installation. Reformatting and reinstalling will change neither the hardware profile nor the key.

Does your computer have a sticker with a code on it? If it does, activate it by telephone, call Microsoft, and explain the problem to them. If you have no sticker you probably have a bootleg copy of windows.
