Well, one cannot make a sweeping statement, but often they do... when I was with my ex-fiancé, he picked up phrases of mine (he found it funny that I called things 'fetching,' for example), and I did too, to a certain extent.

I spoke phrases of love to him in my own language too, which he repeated, but I adressed him with gramatically male phrases whose gender he didn't change, which was rather funny but sweet that he was trying...

yup. THe people you are around have an influence on you weither you like it or not. BUt I like how my guy has rubbed off on me. I have picked up some of his phrases and he, mine.

Dating for 1 yr and 8months now and I havent rubbed off on my boy lol he still doesnt say "aww" when he sees a puppy lol

my bf and i have been together for almost 3yrs. he picked up on a few things i say and uses them often. i started saying love you bye at the end of conversations, he now does it
i say 6 of 1 half dozen of the other, he uses that
i also use larger words and after i say them around him he starts using them too...
guess i'm like a bigger cuter version of word of the day toilet paper lmao
