If you have the container of poison, take it (with the dog, of course) to the vet.
They can treat the dog based on what poison is listed on the packaging.
The dog is in danger. You have no way to know how much poison the dog actually got, and it's best to be safe.

Depends on what type of poison. The most common type of mouse/rat poison is a chemical that prevents the blood from clotting. If your dog didn't eat much of the mouse then you should have no worries. If it ate the whole mouse take him to the vet, he may need a vit. K injection. One thing I would suggest is mixing 1-2 tablesoons of chopped parsely to his food for the next few days....parsely is very high in vit K and most dogs enjoy it.

hi Emma, in case you think of your canines has eaten the pellets then you extremely could touch your vet at present day. Mouse & rat poisons incorporate Warfarin that's an anti blood clotting agent and in the journey that your puppy has eaten any of the poison the indicators would possibly not tutor at present day. that's extra possibly to take place in his faeces, urine, or he might initiate bleeding from different factors together with his nostril. that's needed which you get your lab appeared at at present day. i actually wish that your puppy would be ok. Call the ASPCA animal poison center hotline at 888-426-4435. They should be able to help determine if you need a trip to the vet.

First, offer fresh water. Water will help Dilute and flush it out of the little pouches system faster. Next, call you local vet, and/or vet ER and get the pouch there ASAP. Monitor him while you are doing all of this and take note of any weird signs, licking something constantly, coughing, walking off balance....
Hope everything is okay!

Give your dog vitamin K and call the vet! Vitamin K is the treatment for most rat poisons, so that would be my first step!

if he didn't eat it, no need to worry
and the poison would be in the stomach of the mouse, not the head anyway

If he only go the head, I wouldn't worry. BTW that is what rat terriors are bred to do. They hunt rats and mice.
