I go to casinos and gamble once in a while and loses about $50 to $200 per visit. Somehow when I lost to a $10 bet, I felt bad... and I dont felt bad about losing... nor the money. I don't know why? Any theory?

The betting happened not in the casinos but in the workplace.

I'm thinking that you dont particularly like the guy that you made the bet with. Maybe its a boss - maybe they make more money than you. All in all you probably dont think that they deserve ANY of your money.
Also, maybe, they proved you wrong and you dont like to be proved wrong???

Not sure man - its $10 - dont sweat it. Just dont bet like that again and you wont have to feel that way.

When you go to a casino you are playing for entertainment with a small expectation to do well. When you make a bet with a friend/co-worker etc. it is a personal thing, you want to win and get the feeling of being superior in knowledge or luck or you backed the better team etc.

When you bet, you create an expectation. It's not the amount you lose that you are disappointed by; rather it is the loss of the dream so to speak. You are set up to win, but lose ultimately. Gambling provides excitement for some people. Whether it is the quarter slots or big money cards, there is a hope of winning.

maybe you felt you were the 100 point favorite going into the action and were upset by the underdog...usually in casinos we are the underdog because the house always has the edge..in your work wager maybe you thought you had the edge..remember there is no guarantee in gambling every dog has its day
