On my 07 Ram 3500, in the owners manual there was a 'code' to deactivate it. I do not remember exactly but it was along the lines of turn the ignition on (don't start) click the seat belt in and out 3 times. Turn ignition off then back on, buckle and unbuckle seatbelt Two more times and the horn should beep twice. It was a bit complicated but worked.(after a few attempts) My 04 Ford F-350 had the same basic thing.

first of all oklatom, if you leave your lights on they will shut off on there own after a while and I agree the chime is the most annoying thing, I always put on my seatbelt but if I want to pull my jeep out of the drive way to let another car out I usually don't put my seatbelt on, I am only going 50 yards and don't need to wear a seatbelt for that. I would like to know how to fix this problem also.

Attention!!! Don't unplug it under the seats. Those plugs also control the side airbags, and would be dangerous to unplug.

Your owners manual has the instructions for turning off the seat belt chimes. I just turned off mine in my 07 Wrangler yesterday. It's easy.

Also....It's the insertion of the belt into the buckle that turns off the chime when you buckle up, so if you just insert a flat object (ie piece of plexiglass) into the buckle, it will stop the chime. It's easy to just progam it via the keyfob, so that's what I recommend.

Unless you enjoy subsidizing local government with "voluntary taxes" in the form of traffic fines, Always Wear Your Seatbelt.

That's the best way to silence the chimes.

But you already know this, right?

Put on your seatbelt. Also trade Commander for a real Jeep.

you really should wear the seat belt,it may save your life some day,it did mine, but the chimes is located in the fuse panel for it on most of those, but i would just get used to wearing the belt,it might also keep you from getting a ticket, good luck on it.

well if you wish to pay a hefty fine you can just get under the seat and un-plug the chime wires that is if you get stopped by the highway control cops and they spot no seat belt and cite you for that offense -- --- when you have to get the yearly car state inspection then plug and insp.and then un-plug --- it really is just that simple ------------
