Thank you for asking.
We follow Jesus, but we also follow the New Testament as well. Just because something is not given much emphasis does not mean it is not true. The NT apostles clearly believe homosexuality is wrong, listing it as a sin. Just because Jesus never says specifically 'do not run cars over ppl' does not mean it is okay. My point here is, we follow the whole Bible, and the disciples followed Jesus. (As a apologist joking said, "When Jesus explained to his discples "all things" it does not mean he explained the mating habits of sea slugs!")
Perhaps SOME Christians do not have good reasons for condemning homosexuality. Not all of them. Homosexuality is just another sin - nothing more, nothing less. I believe it is wrong to claim it is not a sin, but it is also wrong to pay it so much attention when there are other, worse sins. I sincerely hope this helps, since you sound sincere in asking this.

WOW, that's an interesting point!
I am a Christian, but unlike some of my fellow believers, I do not see homosexuality as a sin. And you're right, Jesus never addressed the homosexuality issue.
Mostly, though, I just think people are fearful of what they don't understand, and to some straights, the ability to be attracted to someone of the same sex is simply frightening. So they react in very unchristian-like ways!

Matthew 19:4-5 -- 4"Haven't you read," he replied, "that at the beginning the Creator 'made them male and female,' 5and said, 'For this reason a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife, and the two will become one flesh'? 6So they are no longer two, but one. Therefore what God has joined together, let man not separate."
These are Jesus' own words. He said the Creator made them male and female; a man will leave his father and mother and be united to his wife. Since there is no mention of man-with-man relationships (where it was condoned) here or anywhere in the Bible, I'm sure you can figure out that husband-wife was the only relationship that God allows.
And if the following isn't clear enough for you and you can't understand this, than you're in denial:
Romans 1:26-27 -- 26Because of this, God gave them over to shameful lusts. Even their women exchanged natural relations for unnatural ones. 27In the same way the men also abandoned natural relations with women and were inflamed with lust for one another. Men committed indecent acts with other men, and received in themselves the due penalty for their perversion.

No, Satan was invented as a scapegoat for Christians who don't want to follow Jesus.
