eBay will remind them they have out standing feedback they need to complete.
you could send a message threw eBay saying.
"thank you for the item i was very pleased and left you positive feed back hope you do the same for me looking forward to trading with you again in the future"

sad thing is a lot a sellers do not care once they have your cash that is it.
it is wrong because eBay needs feedback so we can see who is who on there and what they are like.

but when i was new on there a few years ago i ask a guy/girl for feedback since they never left it and i left them it and paid in seconds of the item ending.
they left me neutral feedback say sellers beware buyer likes t nag.

also some power sellers only leave feedback once a month as well.

i would click on other buyers that have traded with the person you bought off see if he leaves them feedback

I have done this on occasion so I think it is perfectly acceptable. I wouldn't say "please leave me positive feedback" or anything as direct. I would just word it in a polite way stating that you value your feedback on eBay and if they can spare the time would they be able to leave feedback on how they thought the transaction went. As has been stated previously, feedback is not a mandatory part of eBay. Yes many sellers will hold off until feedback is left by the buyer (I do this myself purely because it makes me aware that the buyer has received the item). Also something to remember, if the seller has lots of transactions going at the same time they may (and often do) choose to leave feedback in batches as opposed to doing one or two here and there.

People seem obsessed with feedback but I know of professional sellers who close an account after 100 or so as they feel too much is not a good thing and puts off as many buyers as it attracts.

I don't think buyers pay much attention so long as the feedback is over 20 and 95% or better.

Please don't be a feedback obsessive. In the end it doesn't make a huge amount of difference.

You shouldnt have to ask the seller to leave good feedback, they should leave it as a common courtesy providing the transaction went well. Its really annoying when people dont leave feedback. I always leave feedback straight away for buyers/sellers at end of transaction as its supposed to be a guide to help people know whether someone is trustworthy or not. How is it supposed to work if some people aren't following the procedure.

If i was you i would try sending them a message just asking if they would leave you positive feedback as transaction is now complete and went smoothly and thank them for their help (not that they deserve thanks if you have to ask for feedback).

Good luck.

No it isn't the done thing.
If someone asked me to leave feedback I wouldn't buy off them again.
Feedback is a personal choice (whether to leave it, and what to say if you do). You have no right to ask someone to choose to leave feedback for you!

Sometimes I don't leave any if I'm dissatisfied but I know if I say this, they'll leave negative for me even though they've no reason to, they're not dissatisfied with me. I hate people who leave neg feedback because they were given neg fdbck. How immature.

I hate the whole feedback thing, it's a load of crap and it means nothing. If someone keeps leaving neg, they'll have loads of neg themselves even if they're very reliable and honest. The culture now is that lots of people have v good feedback scores for nothing. People leave it for eachother to make sure they get it - defeats the whole object of it. It's shite.

Some people are a little slow in returning feedback, but this might be because they have gone on holiday etc. I would give a few weeks before chasing it up. EBay does send out a reminder eventually!

I do. Sellers are supposed to give you a feedback once you have paid. A lot of them wait to make sure you don't gripe about anything. So, I ask them for the feedback and they always comply.

Yes it's fine, although they should leave god feedback automatically if you've paid in good time as that's mostly what sellers are interested in. Have you left them feedback as that could also be why they're waiting?

Check and see if he has left feedback for anyone else recently, or if he gives a lot of feedback.

Even just say "I'd like to know how you felt the transaction went, I'd be greatful if you left me feedback. Thank you"

If I'm buying I leave f/b to let the seller know its arrived and I'm happy, if I'm selling I expect the buyer to leave the f/b first in case there are any problems. As soon as I see f/b has been left I leave theres in return. Most Ebayers I know work this way.
