Whenever I click on spell check to correct spelling errors, all the corrections it shows are in French. When I checked the "Tools" menu, "Options", "Spelling" I see that the language for my spell check is "FRENCH". How can I change this to ENGLISH?

There is no drop down menu with other language selections.

As it turns out, Office 2007 installs some language files that are incompatible with Outlook Express. Even if you uninstall Office 2007 it does not restore your old language files so that's no help.

Microsoft acknowledges this in KB932974
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932974
and the only recourse they offer is to install a third party spell checker.

Spell Checker For OE http://www.snapfiles.com/get/spelloe.html
from Snapfiles is free and should take care of your problem.

Once you install this free utility you might find that you have the option to spell check in both English and French.

In Outlook Express, click on Tools-> Options-> Spelling-> Change Language
Drop-Down to English (US).

Hope this helps...

Most of the Outlook Express error messages are due to problems with the internet connection, not the software on your computer.

go to tools/option/spelling, at the bottom see whether or not you can see "English U.S, if not, set it up, close out look, check it to see whether or not you got the right language, and that is it, or you might have set up your MS Word, so you have to open MS word - tools/languages/set language and choose the right one, close it and re-open you outlook.

good luck.
