If radiation causes genetic mutation and genetic mutations are necessary for evolution then why don't evolutionists intentionally live near radiation so that they can evolve superpowers?

I've seen plenty of TV shows/movies that tell me that radiation gives people superpowers.

I'm absolutely sure you are kidding. Nobody who knows what the string theory is can be so ignorant on scientific arguments.

FYI: everything is radioactive... that's right... EVERYTHING. Only the degree of radioactivity is varied. The very nature of matter is that is inherently unstable. There is some radiation everywhere.

Also FYI: Radiation isn't always the cause of genetic mutations - it can also be viruses or toxins in the environment. And, as there is no way to predict how radiation will affect a genome, avoiding high levels of radiation makes sense. Developing superpowers through radiation is NOT in the realm or reality, or it would have happened already.

Radiation causes too many mistakes in the genetic mutation. Evolution is the slow process where a minor trait helps a being survive a little bit better. Change too many, and you are playing russian roulette with a mostly loaded revolver.

What the hell is this? The Ninja Turtles? We're going to suddenly mutate into superheroes if we hang out around radiation?

All that comes to mind is the Family Guy episode where Adam West tries to get super powers by rolling around in toxic waste.

West: "Do I have superpowers?"
Doctor: "No, Mr. West. You have lymphoma."

Because, little stupid one, they recognize the difference between harmful genetic mutation and that which is necessary for further development of a species!

Either an attempt at humor or a demonstration of massive ignorance.

Because those who understand evolution are usually the smarter bunch.

As you well know 99.9999999% of mutations are harmful.
