What sort of monstrous psychopath would think of such an elaborate way to sadistically inflict pain for all eternity.

leosden: maybe the fact that nobody gives a reasonable answer to these questions means they must be asked, I see you didn't provide an answer but are just having a whine.

spottychan: But the doctrine says God is omnipresent, either you are wrong or God is not an omnipresent God at all...make your mind up.

I'd have to agree. Just like the theory that "god" planted dinosaur bones to fool us.

Huh?

Although, it would be interesting to think of the christian god as the ultimate jokester. The quintessential stand up comedian.

He didn't Satan did. He told Adam and Eve if they ate the fruit they would die> Satan comes along and says You won't really die at all. Now who's lying?
God said, "for dust you are and to dust you will return"
He had a right he made them and they hurt the whole human race. Some people just don't deserve to live.
It says the wages of sin is death. Not eternal torment, but eternal distruction.
They point to the scripture in Luke 16:14 tells how the Pharisees where seeking a way to kill him and dressed in purple and scarlet. Why would a man go to hell simply because he is rich? or heaven because he is poor?
but the religious leaders were rich and treated the common people like dirt even calling them the dirt of the land. Being very rich haughty and arrogant. read Luke 18:9
Shows how they felt.
Then in Colossians 1:18 Says that Jesus was the first to be resurrected to heaven so Abraham wasn't even in heaven and neither was Lazarus it was a symbol or story.
How could heaven be a good place if you could see people suffering? It was to tell the Pharisees they were not approved by God. That they were condemned by God.
Preachers capitalize on this to make money because they are no different than the rich Pharisees.
The pharisees got the point because after that they tried to find ways to kill him.
Read Psalms 37:9,10,11,29

God did not create hell. Hell is a way that religion keeps people in check. The Old Testament (the REAL bible) only mentions Hell one time. Hell does not exist. It is only a reality to those who choose to believe it exists. If God forgives all, why would he choose to send some to Hell? Think about it!

How big must the fool be to realize this and not change their ways to avoid it?

But, I do not think it is a matter of design though I very much enjoy the poem by Frost. Hell is a place where every thing good or if you will of God is absent. Since those that do not love him wish nothing to do with him he has provided a place where nothing of him exists we call this place Hell.

I don't think God did.

Hell is individualized based on the suffering you inflict on others. You create your own hell. Karma is just the beginning.

Regret and change will reduce your suffering, but not at the end, not by much.

Hell is seldom mentioned in the Bible, instead refereing to fires or post rapture events. Perhaps hell is the state of being seperate from god, and not a geographicaly seperate area. That would make earth the hell.

The complete absence of God is the source of the pain of hell. No-one goes there except those who have freely chosen to reject God. Would you favor the alternative - God taking people who have utterly rejected Him, who passionately hate Him, and forcing them to live in His intimate presence for eternity? Where would be the love in that? Love necessitates respecting the decisions and choices of others. Therefore there must be a place where those who have freely chosen to exclude God from their lives can live apart from Him forever. That is hell.

If someone came up to you and continued to hurt you, disobey you, and you said if they didn't straiten out you would send them there, and they only said "I don not care"; wouldn't you what them to get what they deserve? Stop bothering or hurting you?
Heaven is where one goes IF they do ALL they can to obey ALL of Gods Commandments. There are a lot more than ten. What would or could Heaven be like if a lot of mean people were up there too. Could there be any "peace"?
Do you even read the Bible regularly? Do you try to love God and do as he has told us to?

the false concept of hell being an eternal place of endless suffering is a scare tactic created by the papacy during the middle ages that is not supported by the Bible.....

Stop blaming God for man's incompetent babbling

You forgot to include the verses , chapters and so on where it`s mentioned that this Hell is a place of "horrific suffering" .

The only "suffering" as regards Hell " a place where the dead remain until the Resurrection , is being aware of the fact that some of them will not be resurrected to life everlasting .

Other than that , could you please point to where it says anyone will "suffer " in any which way in Hell ?

You`re obviously on to some "never heretofor revealed" biblical information here . Please share your newfound revelations with us .........................

Actually "hell" is a place totally separated from God. Where there is no God what else could there be? Sadness and pain and all the bad things you can imagine because there is no God created beauty and forgiveness.
