The Groomers might give the bath but they will probable charge extra and if you think the dog was scratched by the skunk you need to take the dog to your vet because Skunks are big carriers of rabies and if you want to get rid of the smell wash the dog in tomato juice or Massengill
Douche powder this is what works best
good luck

First Aid
First check to see if your dog was injured by the skunk. If your dog is bleeding or appears to have been bitten, consult a vet immediately. Skunks may carry rabies. If vaccinated, your dog is safe from the rabies virus (but you are not!).

What you need
Next go to a drug store and get the following, if needed:

1 quart (or liter) of 3% Hydrogen Peroxide, H2O2.
Use fresh (unopened) hydrogen peroxide (H2O2). Hydrogen peroxide eventually turns into water (H2O).
1/4 cup (50 ml.) of Baking Soda
1 teaspoon (5 ml.) of Liquid Soap
1 pair of plastic or latex gloves

To Use
Bathe the dog outside or, if it's too dark or cold, in the bathroom with the door closed and window opened.
Combine the ingredients in an open container (do not store in a sealed bottle--it will explode).
Using gloves, wash your dog with lukewarm water and the mixture while the mixture is bubbling. Work the mixture well into the fur.
Be sure to concentrate on the area that was sprayed.
Keep mixture away from your dog's face and eyes (it's a harsh solution). (If your dog has been sprayed in the face, try Tricotine Liquid Douche Concentrate or any over-the-counter douche.)
Let the mixture stand for 10 minutes or so before rinsing off.
Rinse the dog with lukewarm tap water. Don't wash the mixture into your dog's eyes (use a washcloth to cover the eyes if you're rinsing the head).
After bathing, check your dog's eyes. If they are red and watering, your dog may have taken a direct hit in the face. Skunk spray won't blind the dog, but it's very painful. Contact a vet.

Skunks are masters of self-defense.

If not treated immediately, a skunked dog will smell for weeks. Some long haired dogs can retain the odor for years.

First - Dogs usually approach a skunk face first and take a direct hit in the eyes. The spray is not toxic but can be very irritating. Flush his eyes out with an over the counter eye wash or saline solution.

Second - make a solution to neutralize the smell - mix 2-pints hydrogen peroxide, a quarter-cup baking soda, 2 or more teaspoons of dishwashing liquid.

Third - 1st give him a bath with his regular shampoo - its a good idea to wear latex or rubber gloves ( or your hands will smell like skunk). After you rinse him off, lather him again with this homemade shampoo. Work it into his fur good then rinse. You may have to repeat this several times.

You could also try a bath first with his shampoo, rinse well then pour tomato juice over him working it into his fur, let the tomatoe juice soak in for 10 to 20 mintutes then rinse him well and shampoo again. This may help Tame the smell. He may smell like a pizza, but . ..

I've also heard that groomers use Massengill, a medicated douche, it is supose to reduce the smell, you are supose to mix for a medium dog two ounces of Massengill in a gallon of water and pour it on him and leave it on for 15 mintutes. Rinse and shampoo with his regular shampoo.

You could put a dab of Neosporin on the cut when your done. Shouldn't hurt. He may lick it off. If the cut is deep you may want to contact your vet for further advise.

GOOD LUCK!

It sounds like she tangled with that skunk and obviously got the worst of it. Yes, Dawn dish detergent is good for washing off skunk smell, as we have found with our dogs. There are also commercial products available to de-smell dogs, and we have gotten some dog wipes at Petco that work. However, nothing takes the smell completely away, we have found, especially if the dog got a direct hit. Hydrogen peroxide stings on cuts. I am assuming that you are talking about the nose cut, probably from the angry skunk. Noses heal fast, though, due to their good blood supply. I would put the Neosporin on it, and not the peroxide. She may rub it off! I would also keep the grooming appointment. Be sure to rinse the Dawn off well so the dog doesn't lick the residue and get sick.

My dog got sprayed by a skunk about a week ago!!
& it just so happens that my aunts dog just got sprayed by a skunk about a half hour ago!!! The smell is horrible like burnt rubber.
Instead of doing the typical tomato juice thing i went to my local pet store (Petsmart or Petco) & bought Nature's Miracle Skunk Odor Remover. If you cant find this piticular brand they most likely have something like it. (& im sure if you wanted to they could wash her with it for you.) It not only works on animals but humans too! It does work. You put it on, let it dry on the animal then rinse it off! Its simple. I would recommend that.
& you can keep it for as long as you need it incase your dog ever gets skunked again!!
& for the cut i would get it checked out just incase.
I hope this helped good luck!!

I've read that tomato juice was good for getting rid of the skunk smell. Better let PETCO know about the skunk spray before making the trip for grooming- no sense bringing your dog there only to be turned away. Watch that cut. Hydrogen peroxide is drying and may burn her sensitive skin. When you call PETCO, ask about the neosporin, or call the vet on Monday.

Pet stores sell something called skunk off. Is your dog updated on rabies? (the skunk probably scratched or bit her) Watch it closely so that it doesn't get infected, just keep the cut clean with mild soap and water. Petco may be able to use the skunk off but it might cost you more, not sure.

My dog got sprayed by a skunk once, and her whole face was green. Start with a bath using dog shampoo, then use several cans of tomato juice. It really works! The skunk smell disappears, she will smell like tomatoes for at least 3 hours, but hey! Tomato is better than skunk!!!! Good Luck.

I know its not funny but I had to giggle. I had the same experience. Not with one, but with three of my dogs. Buy alot of tomatoe juice and give a bath. Only thing that works. The acid from the juice gets into the skin and does a number on the skunk stink. Really. Let it set in awhile. About 10 minutes. Rinse. Don't take any chances on the bite. Take her to a vet. I know she had her rabbies shot. Right? Good luck

You are doing the right thing for the cut. You can get rid of the skunk smell with either hydrogen peroxide or a little bleach in a lot of water. Save the tomato juice for bloody marys. Be sure to rinse the dog thoroughly after washing with either the bleach or peroxide.
