I knew this girl that I had a class with in art senior year and we were pretty good friends. About a year later I got a chance to talk to her again and told her my feelings for her. I guess I was too slick at expressing my feelings so she thought I was a "playa", and also told me that she didn't think she had a chance with me in highschool. I seriously don't get it?

Well, it sounds like there's definitely some miscommunication going on here. How about you talk to her again, but be real about it? Take her to a coffee shop, or some place quiet, and tell her for real, what you think, don't play the "I'm a cool dude" cards either. Just be the real you, I think you'd be surprised what might come about as a result. Good Luck!

What's there to get? She misunderstood where you were coming from back then, you've cleared that up, now move on with getting to know each other for real...right? You've got dialogue going on with this young lady now, even though you both had to wade through some preconcieved notions to do it. So what? You're talking now, so keep the momentum going and stay on target. Show her the real you, and get to know the real her. Good luck.

It's obvious that she felt like she didn't measure up to you like you was out of her league. She probably compared herself to other girls that she thought was your type and probably said to herself that she would never be like them without even giving it a chance. But you know,it's never too late. If you're both single and still got feelings for each other,just go for it.
