Well, I can tell you, you're certainly not the only one! Sexual desire sits within my being me day in and day out. For the longest time, I thought the same as you... "Gosh, I must be a dirty little perv for always thinking these things!"
However, what I came to realize is... we ALL think these things! Some, of course, do more so than others, but that is just what makes us each unique!
To me, these thoughts/feelings are as natural as breathing. It only becomes unnatural when you begin to act upon these thoughts/feelings in an unhealthy way; whether that be for you or another. But, if you're able to "keep it in your pants" (as they say) and harness the energy that these desires create, it can be an amazing outlet to inspire spiritual creativity!
I tend, now a days, to allow my sexual desires to play out in my external reality as sexual humor; if, of course, I know it will be accepted as such, and not offend anyone. And, for those deeper desires (which make you "want it now!"), I tend to just follow those thoughts/feeling within my mind. I'll ask myself, "Why is this feeling arising? Where is it going to take me? Can I deal with it if I can't act it out or do anything about it right now? Can I turn this sexual desire into another form of desire?"
When I begin to allow these desires to just pass thru my mind, and I don't take too much ownership to them, I find that they usually don't harness enough power to take control of my being to the point that I "need it now!"
To "want" something is just fine, as long as you can keep yourself from thinking you "need" that certain something.
BUT... As many have said before me... If the desire DOES become so strong that it's driving you bonkers... Rosie Palm and her Five sisters are always there to give you a hand! =P

NO, you are not dirty. Please put that away from you. Physicality and it's attributes are coming into the equation now, more than ever before. Let it absorb into you, like you do everything else.
Recalibrate as you go along.
TAGGED by the Cosmic Task force for our vibration is
(((((LIFTING))))))))
Edit: I have to add this, because it was basically a thought produced through this question. We've been collectively speaking about raising our vibration for years. Across the board, in every belief system, this knowledge has been coming to us. What did we think that was going to feel like?
The flu-bug???
I say we transmute that aroused vibration and understand this for what it truly is. Our strongest non-physical agreement that we have, that is not dictated by any thought whatsover, but is totally suseptible to 'heart'.

Don't expect it to ever go away.
If your religion condemns sexual acts or thoughts, I feel for you. You're heading down a long road of unavoidable guilt for crimes that hurt no one.
It will help you, if you can accept it, to realize that sexual desire is present in every human being, it's the fundamental part of our biology. Having sexual desires or thoughts doesn't affect anyone in any way, you are not harming anyone else by thinking that way. Even masturbation hurts no one, and is in fact beneficial for you as it tends to keep hormone levels in balance.
Your question implies that you already feel guilty about these unavoidable feelings, and I hope that if you're a member of one of the guilt-driven, dangerous religions that condemns sex, you have an open enough mind to distance yourself a small ways from that religion. You are human, you have human feelings, and beating yourself up over thoughts will not accomplish anything for anyone.

Nature has created the sexual desire for a much higher purpose so as to keep the continuity of race as such sexual desire should be satisfied without defying the purpose of creation i.e. getting involved in extra-marital sex, heterosexuality or homosexuality. However, if the marital sex course is not available one must curb the sexual desires by keeping fast i.e. restricting food times and observing tempramental restraints.

OK lets look at it this way.
Sex is one of the very few enjoyable things we can do that really costs nothing (unless you get pregnant, and then it costs the state plenty) and doesn't hurt anyone (unless your partners hung like a horse).
What tickles me is all the responses from religious people about abstaining. Which is cool, no oe likes a girl who puts out to every guy in town.
So, with that in mind, i'd like to direct you to www.annsummers.co.uk and check out the rabbit. It should relieve pretty much all your problems for now.
Enjoy :-)

Masturbation helps. As far as diverting sexual energy into a religious focus, if you familiarize yourself with documented historical events, you will learn how the transference of sexual energy into "spiritual" activity has resulted in excesses of abuse. The Salem witch trials is one. The inquisisiton is another, Nazism is another. Everything we think and feel originates in our brain. So, it probably wouldn't hurt if you examined the source of your need for sex. Most of us are sexual creatures. But being obsessed by sex requires psychological intervention.

As biological beings, it is natural to have sexual desire. Without it the species (as we know it in the natural form) would not continue.
The communion of two beings in love seems to me to be spiritual in nature.
The dirty idea about sex is in your own mind.

You claim to be a Buddhist, ending desire does not mean denying nature.

You can try the spiritual way, but stay clear of kids.
I think the manual method is easier and more efficient (for some time).
Have a nice day.

* The sexual can also be spiritual.
* Is there a choice of only either/or?
* Many things though, have been achieved by people who sublimated their desires.
* Better though, NOT to vilify sexual desire if you can't handle it, like Paul did.
