No no no no no no no no no. Please don't. Some dogs have diseases where they cannot tolerate even low doses of aspirin (von Willdabrants sp?). Even if not aspirin and aleve should not be given to dogs. Some vets will allows a chewable children's aspirin but there are much better medications for arthritis for dogs. See the vet and try glucosamine.

I would not give my dog this for arthritis. Think of it this way --- you don't take your dog's medication when you are sick or not feeling well so don't give your dog the medications that you take. You can call your vet's office they normally have a service number where you can reach someone 24/7 if not then alot of cities have vet er clinics where a vet is there 24/7. The vet er doctor may want you to bring your pet in though since they don't know the dog. I would try to call your vet though that you normally go to because they would most probably prescribe something for your dog without coming in for a visit. Good luck and give your doggie some tender loving care in the meanwhile.

NO, buffered asprin, like Ecotrin or Ascriptin ONLY, no tylenol, motrin (ibuprofen) or naproxen(aleve). They can be toxic to dogs. How big is the dog? 325 mg of enteric (coated asprin) up to 50 lbs, every 6 hrs. is usual.

Do not give RIMADYL no matter what the vets tell you. Rimadyl kills, seen it many times in person with friends dogs.... Look online at Rimadyl poisioning if you don't believe me or doubt me.

No. I have a 13 yr old Rottweiler. She had terrible arthrities. At first I was giving her shots every week. Now I buy a chewable natural product. It is called "Joint Health"..You can find it and many other natural products for your dog (and horse) on www.springtimeinc.com She doesn't need the shots anymore and is climbing stairs again. Good luck

I have a dog with arthrytis. My vet recommended giving hin one "coated", low dose or baby asprin, twice a day for pain. Give the pill in a portion of a slice of cheese (he really loves pill time) because the cheese also helps coat the stomach.
Never give your dog aleve or tylonal because their bodies cannot prosess it and it can cause liver damamge.

NO absolutely not, no Aleve, Advil, Tylenol or products taht contain the ingredients in these medications. They are toxic to dogs

*****While asprin may be considered safe for most dogs it isn't for all so do NOT give asprin unless specifically told to by your vet!!!*********

******It is ILLEGAL for ANYONE including licensed vets/techs to give medical advice especially type and/or dosage of medications on here or any place else...by giving out this type of info you could seriously harm even kill someones pet if they choose to take your advice..the only safe advice and dosage of medications comes from the vet familiar with the dog and it's history!!!! ******

NO!

Use a buffered Asprin or half of one. My middle dog is six. She was hit by a car when she was younger and with our new puppy he is bigger and built bigger than her. She gets to the point sometimes she can't walk because she is in pain. Our vet has our eldest who is eleven on Glucosamene tablets that people take. One 1500 mg pill or a 2000 mg pill once a day works. Sarah is in really good shape now and she walks better. TRY THAT! It is really good for them.

No! This will cause liver and kidney damage to your dog. If your dog is suffering with arthritis than your vet can prescribe a medication that will help your dog not hurt it more.

Never give your pet medications for humans unless your veterinarian tells you to. I know you can give a dog aspirin but not a cat...that would likely result in death. Call your vet.
