If someone died and was resurrected, don't you think that someone would have written about it at the time?

If there were "hundreds" of witnesses to that event, don't you think some were literate enough to write about that newsworthy event?

If so, why was the new testament portion of the bible only written about 50 years after the alleged resurrection? Sure, news travels slower back then, but given the magnitude of the alleged event, don't you think that some literate roman would have it scribed down somewhere?

So how come there are no contemporaneous written records of this alleged supernatural event?

On top of that none of the thousands he fed thought to write anything down either. this guy walked around performing miracles and no one, not one person thought to writethis down. i have seen many say,"well in history there is usally a big gap odn't you know it took x number of years to write the story of x. This is not some historical figure, he is performing miracles, making food appear, healing the sick and blind, walking on water, ressurecting people...and not one single contemporary mention.

When Christ was resurrected he only appeared to his followers. They were the common people and back then the common people could not read or write.Only those who could read and write were the wealthy and educated and they wanted to stay that way. Honesty if you started going around talking about someone coming back from the dead you would be locked up. Why would a roman write abound a miracle event that would destroy the hold Rome had? You would be labeled a Christian and likely killed. Maybe it took 50 years before someone who could write actually was safe enough to write.

I'm thinking about starting my own religion. I already completed a marvelous feat that nobody can prove otherwise. And I did it in front of a million witnesses. I made these little wings out of cardboard and flew around the world by just flapping my wings. Nobody in science or the aerospace disciplines has been able to prove me to be wrong so it must be true right? Because I'm telling you man that there were a million witnesses. thats why I keep thinking that perhaps the translaters were missing something like a little character that looks like a decimal point or a dash easily overlooked ,that had a meaning similar to .... instead of saying death , by adding this character it would read certain death,
But this is all just wishfull thinking on my part, something isn't right here . somethings missing, if it doesn't make sense odds are it didn't go down that way ..

they say that the gospel of mark was written in 70AD and the others where copied from it's format but Paul was preaching before 70AD and he made a reference to the last supper so the gospel story must have been around and probably written but may have varied so to avoid confusion the gospel of mark was probably written with only the things that correlated between the stories. and the later gospels included some of the variations.
