can you erase mru archives, the winrar files and not damage other files?

can you erase them and not erase the originals? or are they the same?

as that only a list for OS to show what was recently used
winrar files... what the temp extraction from one, yes those can be deleted, but if you want the original rar archive, you keep t unless you extracted the files from it an no longer want the rar archive
