No dog is too old to train. Consult a professional dog obedience trainer.

No dog is too old to train. And shock collars should only be used on people who produce and sell them.

If she is small, you can create a barrier out of almost anything.

Apart from which as a dog companion you should either be monitoring where she is if she is outside if she has access to the street, creating a barrier or not letting her outside alone.

You can get relatively inexpesive kennels. If she has to stay outside when you are not home Home Depot has a nice chain link kennel for about $100.00 or so. Dogs are never too old to train. Although pinch collars look mean they actually don't hurt the dog. They are great training aids. Get on and start training her to do what you say. You don't have to pull on them. Usually just the feel of it on the dog makes them act better. Also works great for pulling on the leash when you walk her. And be more careful about letting her run out the door.

Keep her on a runner when she is outside. We use one of the stakes in the ground with a swivel so the dog has plenty of space to move and play.

They have shock collars that you can adjust the level of shock on for small dogs, but I would use that as a last resort.

First of all a dog is never to old to train it just takes a lot more effort with age.

Without a fence I'm afraid you'll just have to keep her in the house.

Sorry.

You need to have her on a leash before she becomes road kill. No dog is ever to old to train...just takes time and patience. See if your local humane society has some free training classes and keep her on a leash when outside...

You'll have to either keep her inside, or get a stake and tie her up so she stays in the yard. Or, you could spend time with her outside, with her on a leash and just walk her around or let her play.

Mine did this all the time too. Keep her on a leash, and let everyone who comes into your house know about the problem so that they are careful not to let her out.

get a small leash and tie it up to something real good and let her run around like that and get gates for your doors so if you leave she cant run out the door behind you
