It doesn't matter it will not change anyone's mind. What they believe is in their mind already and it will not change unless they want it to. Believe in your own thing and leave others alone. Go to church or don't go to church. Your belief is your choice!

If people want to preach they should go to church, that is the place for that. If they don't believe just don't believe and don't argue.

The percentage of good questions and answers on this site has been diminishing daily. The site is being ruined by the ignorant many. You have to be selective with the questions you wish to answer. The cretins network and postulate stupidity. It's not a matter of being religious or not. It's a matter of having patience with fools. God bless.

Because that's what this place is for!

Nobody will convert on the basis of one answer. But all the answers will have an effect, according to their merit.

Because of the additional research YA has prompted from me, I've been slowly coming around from Deist/Agnostic to Athiest.

Even a closed mind can not forget what it has heard. It combines with everything else and, deep inside, mingles and blends to form a new point of view. You can't avoid it. It's life.

if the people's belief says to go and preach to others, you're asking this thing senselessly... (i mean, you should know that). but generally, just like you said, go on your own belief... if someone says they're christians, it's not objective to criticize b/millions of people because of a handful... go and find that truth by yourself! cause, still, there must be something...

If only everyone behaved as you suggest.

Unfortunately, there are some religions/beliefs that exhort their adherents to "witness" to the unbelievers so that their beliefs can "spread."

When this witnessing/preaching occurs, there will be questions raised about the rationality of their beliefs. In my opinion, this is only fair.

Ha, I agree 100%, but sometimes it's hard to ignore when someone says something terrible against your beliefs.

Like if someone were to say "Jesus Christ is a made up guy"
I would feel like "hey! wait a second"

But I guess that's how religious wars start, everyone not respecting eachother.

.. hmm could it be that

"the only mind which does not change is a dead one"

??

and "change because you want to" is an illusory fiction

sometimes it helps to "look deep", altho that can be a dangerous practice

When you look too long into the abyss, the abyss looks back through you.

yep. true. true.

why? human nature. we're all guilty of it to an extent. just try to rise above it.

that said, a better question would be: "Why do we stick around to hear all this preaching???"

Some, not all, still try to approach things with an open mind.

i believe it gives a person to state their beliefs with a point and leaves it open with a counter point.
