This is a good less expensive bike parts retailer. You'll need to contact these places for info on shipping. It's not something they all advertise.

highland vengence? I assume it's a K-mart type bike of some sort. What's good parts to you may be bad parts to me. Realitive terms with no context are imposible to answer accurately, but I'll try:

This bike may or may not make it back with you... so you want to spend as little as possible while still getting stuff that works. The Bike Nashbar URL I gave you would have moderate to very good parts. Buy the cheapest - they will be better that what came on the bike by far. And they often have items on big discount, close out sales too.

There are hundreds of on-line bike parts stores. Since you have access to the internet seach for em.

Why not contact Upland and tell them your story and see if they might want to help you out? Might be good PR for them. Work that angle.

My company buys and builds hundreds of bikes a year for the kids of good men like you deployed overseas so maybe Upland will be likeminded.

Good luck and thank you for your service!

The how is easy. Go to this site:

www.parktools.com

You will find Haynes manual type how to sheets for bikes.

Good bike parts would be Shimano or SRAM. You might also look at Easton for bars etc. There are a couple of sites that might help you with your parts ideas:

www.evanscycles.com

www.rutlancycling.co.uk

www.chainreactioncycles.com

Also, my local shop is very good:

www.georgehallscycles.co.uk

Luck

check whether it is a good quality frame. It would be a pity to fit a lot of expensive new parts to a poor frame.
