You asked,"how sleeping pills react & what about aftermath"?

Answer is both. Will depend on the type of the pill. Most sleeping pills will knock a person off for 8 hours minimum. So see a doctor and find out.

Actifad, regular is anti histamine that acts like sleeping pill, drink a glass of water (16 Oz.) and then take one pill, make sure it is not time released long lasting kind.

I do not recommend taking sleeping pill or Actifad, because you must stay awake during any flight, just in case you have to deal with any emergency. It is a different thing if you fall asleep, during flight, best thing you can do is just relax, and catch a few zees, from time to time. We are talking about only 6 hours of flying time at a time.

I personally do not suggest you to take any type of sleeping pills. If you are tired of long journey you can put 2 spoons of coconut oil on you scalp and then automatically you get sleep. but if you go for s pills then you may be a depressant the next day you may not have the stamina to walk to do anything. If you take banana juice you may get sleep I feel. you may try these alternative ..best of luck.

2 x 6hrs isnt that long unles you have a real desperate need to sleep? try a travel pill, they usually are over the counter, and relax folks quite well.
a valium is also ok, if you don't use them often a 5 or 10mg one of!...will have you feeling mellow nough to doze.
but without the heavy leaden feeling a sleeping pill usually leaves behind.
and a "sleeper" seems to need about 12/24hr "washout"period if your'e not a regular user.
crosswords are usually enough to knock a person sleepy too! and drug free!

If you're going to be crossing time zones, which you obviously are, talk to your doctor about a temporary prescription for Ambien. Not only will you sleep on the plane, but this will help you to not experience jet lag. Have a good trip!

You might try Tylenol's PM. It has a mild sedative but doesn't make you groggy. I use them when my sleep cycle get's out of whack.
