Most passenger car tires are designed to be inflated to 30-35 PSI, but it will tell you on the side of the tire. There should also be a label telling you what tire pressure to use. On most cars it is on the door frame of the driver's door.

The driver side door jamb lists the air pressure for tires if you want a comfortable ride. Make sure it says 8 ply tires. An 8 ply tire will require more air pressure than a 2 or 4 ply tire. The proper inflation pressure for maximum load will be listed on the tire sidewall and will be rough riding when not carrying a load. In no case should the tire be under inflated, because of heat buildup and destruction of the tire.
If the vehicle was factory equipped with 8 ply tires, the owners manual will give the inflation pressures, loaded and unloaded.

Be sure you have a good tire gage and use the same gage at home and at the gas station. If your reading is 32 at home/cold and 36 at the station/hot, and you want 35 when cold, just add 3 pounds at the station, running the pressure up to 39. However, it does not seem the pressure should have gone from 32 to 36 in 2.5 miles, so I suspect you were not using the same gage in both locations; one or both of them may be inaccurate and not reading the same under the same conditions. Hopefully your tire gage is a good/accurate one; use it at both locations.

Most answers have refered to tyres fitted to cars not "Caravans" these depend on the weight of the Van and any additional loading The Caravan handbook should give guidance on weights/Tyre pressures, most important is how any added weight is distributed and requires care when loading the "Van"

Never look at the side of a tire for the psi. That psi is the highest for that tire. The correct air pressure will be listed on your drivers Door jamb.

According to the side of other tires I've changed at work the correct psi for your tires is 37psi.
you should be able to find it on the sidewall of your tires not too far from where the size of the tire is.
Happy inflating :)
