I agree. Christians expect everyone to believe based on blind faith, but how can I believe in a God that I have experienced NO proof of existing? It's like telling me that Scotland is infested with dragons & goblins. I mean, I've never been to Scotland, and I've never seen either of these creatures to even know if they exist, but logic tells me that since no-one else can give me any actual PROOF of these things existing, then they don't exist. I can't MAKE myself believe something that just occurs to me as being completely ficticious. My brain just can't accept it!

You have a valid question. Even Jesus said that His followers would do even greater things than He did but as yet I haven't heard of anyone walking on water !!
The bible says that God never changes and He has always done miracles and signs so it must be us that have changed. Many times in the old testament the Jews cried out for a sign but got none.
I believe that Romans 13-15 holds the key :-
13 It was not through law that Abraham and his offspring received the promise that he would be heir of the world, but through the righteousness that comes by faith. 14 For if those who live by law are heirs, faith has no value and the promise is worthless, 15 because law brings wrath. And where there is no law there is no transgression.
These days churches are using the law to make people fell guilty and to make them cough up tithes and money. But this passage says that if we live by the law we are not living by faith. We can only claim the promises of Christ by faith ALONE !!! No faith = No miracles. However do not get too down hearted. There are places where the New covenant and grace are preached. If you are in the UK check-out www.mikereidministries.com I heard a lot of good stuff happens there but you have to look for it. If you really are looking for God yourself you'll get your miracle.

You know, simply because you believe that Jesus was just a man, and not The Son of The Living God, does not mean you should disrespect Him. There have been many signs. Even now we live in a world full of signs. Many people die gladly as martyrs for Him. I would do the same, if this were asked of me. When Jesus walked the earth, Pharisees asked the same of Him: "Give us a sign". His answer was (and I am sorry if you feel offended, but I will quote His exact words): "A wicked and adulterous generation looks for a miraculous sign, but none will be given it except the sign of Jonah" (Matthew 16:4). To make it clearer: as Jonah, a prophet of the Old Testament, had spent 3 days in the belly of a whale, unharmed, so Jesus would spend 3 days in a grave, but would rise again, and one day judge the earth. His Second Coming is drawing near.

IF you were told that the Titanic would hit an ice berg and sink would you have still gotten on the boat?
IF you were told a week before about the 1906 San Fransisco earth quake would you have left town?
IF....in 1900 you were told about man being on the moon, computer technology, medical technology, a cell phone, a CD would you have believed?
IF... we had listened we could have prevented 9 / 11....
IF... we had read the dietary laws in the old testament we could have prevented many diseases... we do not listen...
GOD knows we are a stubborn and arrogant people....

There will be no sign other than the one we have already been given - Jesus himself. You may scoff about about someone who died two thousand years ago, but you have to admit that this one sign has been enough for countless Christians to make their decision for Christ down the centuries and up to and including the present day.
And in 'making their decision' you have the real answer to your question. We have free will, and we need to make our decision not only about what to believe but also upon what basis to believe.
Some have already answered that they will believe only what they can prove. Fine. That's their decision.
For myself, I am prepared to believe what my heart tells me is true. That's my decision.
Take Love as an example. Suppose that 'just one sign' would prove to everyone that two people loved each other. It would make the whole business of courting and choosing a partner a whole lot easier - but it would kill romance at a stroke, and how much the poorer life would be because of it!
The very fact that Love, to be fulfilled, depends upon two people taking a risk with each other, daring to say 'I love you' when that might put the other person off for good, and even making a decision to share a whole life together, helps to make love into the wonderful and exhilarating experience it can be. What value does 'I love you' have if 'just one sign' has made the whole business of love obvious and well-known to everyone already?
And what does it cost to say 'I believe' if 'just one sign' has made the whole business of faith obvious and well-known to everyone already?

The hard truth is that salvation is not for everyone. The Bible splits people into 2 groups, those saved by faith and those who aren't. This has been Gods plan from before creation. Everything happens according to Gods Plan. He isn't begging for more people to join him. If he saves a person, he will convert that person. No signs needed.

Your question kind of reminds me of the Jews, they always looked for a sign..For Jews request a sign, and Greeks seek after wisdom; but we preach Christ crucified, to the Jews a stumbling block and to the Greeks foolishness, but to those who are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ the power of God and the wisdom of God. Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men, and the weakness of God is stronger than men.
In Paul’s day, the Jewish world was looking for a sign. Specifically, they wanted the sign of a miraculous Messianic deliverance. They were not looking for the message of the cross. Their desire for deliverance was not bad, but their rejection of God’s way of deliverance was.
Yes Im sure it would be great if God did something in our day but would we believe it ? They know one day that a messiah was to come but when he did they did not know Him or believe Him, what did they do Crucified Him..Christians today have to live by faith
Romans 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.

You have the empty tomb, a sign that almost 2000 years later cannot be adequately explained except for resurrection. Many in the times of Christ saw His miracles but did not believe. They couldn't. Unless God gives you the faith to believe, the eyes to see and the ears to hear, you will not believe, you are incapable of it. Believe it or not, it isn't God's intention to save everyone, or for everyone to believe. God has chosen out His people, and they will believe.
Joh 10:26 But you do not believe for you are not of My sheep, as I said to you.
Joh 10:27 My sheep hear My voice, and I know them, and they follow Me.

Many people's lives are being changed everyday with the grace and power of God. Miracles happen every day in the world, it's just that God doesn't like to brag about it.

Have you tried going to church or actually spending time around Christians? God does miracles all the time, healing for example. If you won't accept the miracles around you and continue to put them down to other things (illusions, science, evolution) then what makes you think you would accept any others?
