I heard that the Navy would help pay for the tuition for my Masters (my husband is active duty.) Supposedly, the only requirement is that I take some type of an orientation class through the Navy. Of course, this is just what I *heard* from others...I can't seem to find any info online or in the college office on base.

Does anyone have any information on this (is it even true?) And if it is, what office do I obtain this info from and who do I need to speak to?

The Navy does does not provide money to spouses for education. However, Coastline Community College started a program called the Military Spouses Program. It offers on-line classes at $59 a credit, free textbooks, and no application/registration fees. Check it out at http://military.coastline.edu/index_sp.cfm

That is an untrue statement, the Navy does not offer tuition assistance to spouces of the miltary, upon your husbands discharge he has the option of passing his MGI benifits to a a child of his immediate family. He was up to 15 years after his discharge to use his MGI. For more information contact the Family Services in your area or log onto Militray.com.

nope.

spouses are ineligible for any tuition assistance through the military or GI Bill Monies.

and furthermore, the AD member only has TEN years form discharge/retirement and the navy does NOT allow them to sign it over to minor children.

I was in the Army, and the army would go to the education center on any military base, or get a hold of ACS . I do remember hearing that one of my soldiers wife was getting TA, but I could be wrong, so I would ask.
