im not sure how the joke is originally but i'll just do my own version..

Joe: i was on the bus on my way here.. the seats were full but i luckily found an empty one... later at the bus stop, and old woman came in but no one got off so the woman was forced to stand. i felt really bad for the old lady.

Jane: so what did you do?

Joe: i closed my eyes...

==end==

i know i suck with story telling but tell me what you think... thanks

I think your story accurately represents the state of affairs in the world today, with our tendency towards selfishness and looking the other way. It's a sad fact that common courtesy and respect have fallen away in what has become a society where the mindset is "look out for number one and to hell with all the others."

Good one. A factual way of showing just how lame people really are. Like the people that care so much about puppies but can't possibly take them home. But they want to be remembered as the person that said they cared. Quite funny, really.

some? it is life itself... closing our eyes on suffering is always easier than doing something about it... we are experts at it...
that is why the world is what is. Compassion and kindness have been replaced by greed and cynicism, there is more money to be made that way.

Here's one more appropriate for this forum...

Jesus Christ walks into a hotel and hands the guy at the counter 3 nails and asks..."can you put me up for the night"?
