It depends where you get hit, and how close it was shot at you. If you have a low pain tolerance i wouldn't recommend doing it regularly, but I would say go for it because it's fun even though it hurts for a moment. Just be sure to wear a long sleeve shirt, maybe a sweater, and a pair of jeans. If you can wear a neck guard. It is very painful to be shot in the neck.

OK well here's the thing being shot by a paint ball is like being stung by a bee. It stings, but it happens so fast you don't really care trust me on this I was just like you 2 months ago and welt are nothing but a mark where you get shot, they go away in a day or two

If you wear armor not so bad it still hurts really badly but not terrible. Yet if you dont have armor you will get welts I have welts the size of nickles and quarters. It hurts badly almost like some one hitting you with a slushy Ice ball. Not snow ball ice slush ball it stings!

I thought paintballers had the equivalent to what Moto-x guys wear (body armor)? "Wear two shirts"? Is that what a pro recommends for casual gaming/maximum safety,...or is that already overkill, ...or is that some running around the neighborhood type of equipment?

Does anyone know where to get pepper balls, the kind that cops have, how much more do they cost vs. regular paintballs?

I have a friend who does it all the time and he swears it doesn't hurt that bad. But he's always showing me the bruises and welts he gets from it, so I'm not sure I believe him. Good luck!
