I honestly thought you were asking about the Freudian concept of "Id."
I think my state requires grocery stores to ask for an ID if you're buying alcohol or tobacco regardless of how old you look.
I'm 50, I look 50, and I got asked for ID when I was buying non-alcohol beer. I said "You're kidding." The clerk "I have to card everybody, even if you're buying marischino cherries."
I got carded when I bought cigars once, and I said "I'm 17, but I've had a really hard life." She laughed.

i was trying to buy beer friday im gonna be 33 in a week or so and they still wouldnt sell it to me cause i didnt have an id

no, im in my forties, and they sopped asking for my id a long time ago when i but my alcohol and cigarettes now. wish somebody would though.
