The answer from the Bible would be found at Ecclesiastes 12:13
"The conclusion of the matter, everything having been heard, is: Fear the true God and keep his commandments. For this is the whole obligation of man."
Don't get hung=up on the word 'fear' ....it only means great respect.
If my answer is bible=based, you can assume I'm Christian.

I am a Catholic. My husband and children make life worth living. Also, I believe that no matter how bad we have it here on earth-as long as we're good and follow the ten commandments-we will be rewarded in heaven.

I know this sounds corny, but without love for yourself and others, life is not worth living.
You must first learn to love yourself before you can love others. If you can't do this--then you fail at love from the start.
Anyone who has been in these shoes knows what I am talking about--or has committed suicide.

I'm an Atheist who believe life is worth living simply because that's the point.

Life is what you make it & I try very hard to make it wonderfully productive.

Christian - Life itself makes it worth living. It's a great thing that we have, and it's too short to waste. God's given us many blessings to be thankful for (i.e. friends, family, emotions, shelter, food, warmth, love, etc)

Otherwise, religion-wise.

Generally speaking we continue living out of habit, thinks I. It's only 'worth it' if we happen to open our eyes.

life most definitely is not worth living because when you look around and see what is going on in the world......conflict,war,death,destruction its all around us.
disease,famine,murder.....you read about it every day....you see it every day on the tv.
even our every day working lives bring us stress, grief, worry and heartache......and the cause of all this.....2 things.....
MONEY and RELIGION !!!
so if you are religious(i most certainly am not) then you have something to live for....HOPE
if however you crave money, wealth and fame then you too have something to live for.......GREED
however if neither of these are the driving force behind your existance then only 1 other reason remains....not love, not family....but FEAR.......fear of the unknown!!??
so if you are afraid of what,if anything,is after life then you also have something to live for.....fear of death.
so there you have it,3 reasons to go on living on this god forsaken planet of ours.......
HOPE
GREED
FEAR OF DEATH............................
