just tell him the truth, when 2 people love each other, they show their commitment and affection for each other in many ways; marriage, kissing, holding hands and sometimes, of a more intimate nature. He probably knows already but no need to go into details.

Also, let him know that if he has any further questions or feels weird about it, even though you are his parent, you are willing to talk or just to listen; leave lines of communication open.

At 11 years old, I would have to assume that they know about sex. Just explain to him that he walked in on a private moment, and from now on he should knock before entering your room.

well he should know what you were doing, but you must not show embarrasment and explain only adults do that and what he saw stays in the home as others may get offended and explain the birds and the bees as he prob knows through school better hear the truth off you rather than misinformed mates or quiz him on what he knows and give him propper advice than beating round the bush (matter of speaking)

He is probably embarrassed also. So maybe you should sit down and have a talk to him about it. This is probably a great opportunity to explain what sex is, whey people have it, and what it could create. They start very young these days. Maybe if more parents taught there children the significance of it we could prevent so much under age sex.

I think that he probably knew what was going on. He's old enough to have the "birds and the bees" talk and it would be best coming from his parents. Sure it's going to embaress him, but wouldn't you rather give him the info he needs rather than somebody else giving it to him.
