The one thing we have in common Bertie, is that we are all born into the same world. We are not born into religion. We are born as children of the devil, each one of us with the same capacity to sin. Religion cannot save us, only Christ can and we are not born into Him at the same time as we are born into flesh. It is only when we come to recognise Him for who He is and the Holy Spirit causes us to be born again that we have true life and has nothing to do with the denomination we attend. It's good that you believe there was a Jesus, God and hope for a heaven but the bible tells us that even the demons believe that and tremble. Bless you for asking so many questions here. You are obviously seeking to know the truth. Keep asking, the Lord will answer :)

I don't know what sparky's talking about.
Basically i think your attitude is sort of right. I too was raised as a roman catholic, but there's something wrong with it, let's face it.
I have studied many religions included the much criticised scientology. (yes i have seen all the slander sites and videos and reports of deaths and sinister goings on. And yes i've read all the stuff about the marcab confederacy and all that, and i still support scientology, so no more criticisms please)
I have found that real religion is personal. If you pursue your quest for god, or for a fundamental truth on which this world was created, you will develop your own beliefs, and i am sure you will find the true nature of god for yourself.

Yes, you don't have a choice what religion you are born into, it's usually down to your parents & what they believe. For example, my mother was Roman Catholic, My Father was Church of Scotland, I was baptised in the Church of Scotland, but in my mis-spent youth became an Episcopalian (go figure)! LOL...now i'm a bit like you, but since I don't really believe in a middle eastern god anymore that concept is out, plus the fact I believe when you die you come back again, living many different lives.

Bertie,
I was "born" into the United Methodist church but prefer to worship in a non-denominational church. I was also dragged everyday of my life until I turned 18 to church no more saved or believing than the man in the moon. I went because my daddy made us go every Sunday. Now at 49(tomorrow) I am grateful that he did but I found Christ on my own, I asked him to come into my heart on my own and I chose the type of service I would worship at. You are right though that there is too much "religiosity" in the christian church and many are missing the point of being a Christian.

Howaya Bertie! Seeing as that's your opinion on no religon can be proved to be the correct one, any chance you can change the six one news to the 6 o'clock news? The state supported TV channel should not pander to one religion. Lose the Angelus.

Shame you're not the real Bertie............

You can't really say you was born into the right/wrong religion! just because your parents have they're chosen religion it may not always be the right one. I believe you have to look into other religions in life & choose a religion based on your research & which one makes the most sense to you!. They can't be all right & wrong you must decide & choose your own destiny.

It's all right Bertie. As you grow older you'll no longer be amazed at anything human beings do, or believe.
